Walker has not been released nor will he be according to this article:

Raiders cut ties with Hall after 8 games - NFL - Yahoo! Sports

But you never know, after all it is the Raidas!!

Cable said he hopes the move sends the message that no one’s job is safe, but he went out of his way to say that receiver Javon Walker won’t be the next high-priced acquisition to go. Walker, who signed a $55 million contract in the offseason, has only 13 catches at the midpoint of the season.

“Javon has really brought his game to a whole new level the last few weeks, whether it’s on the practice field or in the games,” Cable said. “Javon Walker is in no way not going to be a part of this football team. I don’t know about all the money stuff, or high priced, or this or that. I just know what I’m trying to do to make this team better.”

Hall will not clear waivers. His contract, the way I understand it, means a team can pick him up for his remaining salarie this year of $800,000. After that I am not sure, but I think, a team could cut him at very little cap loss. So, if he works out they steal him, and if he does not, they dont loose much. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the cap ramifications, could help us out. This is why I think he does not clear waivers. I also think that the Redskins take him if he makes it to them. That scenario is unlikely, because Dallas wont pass him up, and they come before us the way I understand waivers.

Re: Raiders to waive Deangelo Hall

Well, part of the reason the Raiders cut him now was to avoid $16M in bonuses that apparently become due or unrevocable after a certain point. Not sure how they play into the cap, but by picking him up on waivers a team would probably be responsible for that as if it were a signing bonus. 16M would have some significant cap ramifications and I doubt anyone would want to take that kind of risk on a head case who couldn't make it 8 games with the Raiders.

My bet is he clears waivers, signs for a moderate signing bonus and has an incentive laden contract.

I believe the 16 mil is an injury insurance clause that should he get hurt, he would still get 16 mil guaranteed. That's a lot even if he could play OT. :pimp:

I wonder if Hall was fired for Cause, or for Performance?

Then he'll end up on the Dallas Cowboys because Jerry Jones loves garbage.

Here is the bottom line on Hall: "In his eight games in Oakland, Hall was beaten 40 times for 552 yards on 66 passes thrown his way, according to data compiled by STATS LLC. He gave up more yards than any defender this season and was tied for third worst in catches allowed." He is a name, he is a bust, he is a liability on the field, he is potentially a liability off the field, and he has an extremely inflated opinion of his own skills, which his play does not support. Just because you make the Pro Bowl does not mean you are a great player. The tape doesn't lie, the Redskins coaches will see that. Hopefully he will end up in Dallas and Santana Moss can abuse him after the bye.

I would take DH or Walker for a cheap contract, a la Shawn Alexander. Springs is a great corner, but he's hurt and there's no telling if he's going to stay healthy through the rest of the season and the playoffs. DH could add depth to our CBs, and I am not sure if he can, but he could be a new punt returner for the team (although I think he fielded kickoffs and not punts). I think Greg Blache could put DH in his place and keep him quiet. Our team has had its share of divas, and I think we've fared well with them.

I think the argument for Walker is the strongest, Moss is hurt, ARE is not a #1 receiver, Thomas is making rookie mistakes, and all that we have left is Cooley. So once again, if we can get him cheap, I say why not.

Couldn't of put it better myself. Keywords being CHEAP REASONABLE CONTRACTS.

I think that pretty much says it all. Even if we got him for free. Why would you even want him on your team?
