Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
Not sure anyone actually reads my posts, but I usually throw in jibes at the kool-aid drinkers because, well...it's easy and those avatars are ridiculous (Hey! I can spell!).
However, for one week, and one week only, I'll belly up to the bar and help kick the kool-aid keg(s). Support the team I've loved since I was old enough to pick up a football and do the Heisman pose. It's so easy to be negative about this team, their lack of ability to finish off teams, the injuries. However, this team has equaled their win total from all of last year already...the potential is there, they just have to execute. And what better way than to do it on the career-killing turf of Texas Stadium. Oh, and I've elected RobH to be my official spokesman this week...so direct any and all questions to him, as I'll be too busy trying to get the kool-aid mustache off my face. |

I don't know if it was mentioned or not, but I think fans should realize that JC is partly to blame for all this. I listen to the John Thompson show and he was saying that people are sort of affraid of pointing fingers at JC. JC is young, sure, but he has been playing for a while now. When is he going to develope to a good QB? He hasn't been making good decision by holding the ball or over-throwing (sometimes wide open) receivers. If the Skins will have any chance, it will be with JC stepping up and making good decisions and good throws. To borrow from your post: And what better way than to do it on the career-building turf of Texas Stadium. |

Most of us are just willing to let him take his lumps since he's been showing promise. And considering he's just recently started his 16th game, I think he's ahead of schedule when compared to a lot of other young starters like Eli Manning, Rex Grossman, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart, etc. |

I guess you missed last week? He's well on his way. I honestly don't understand anyone who can look at what he's done so far and not come away pleased with his progress. |

Something like 23 ints(?) Campbell looks pretty damn good for a QB his age, experience and caliber. Not ready to annoint him "the next coming" but admittedly he shows a lot of promise. I think he has been held back a bit especially in the red zone, he has shown good poise and deicision making when they allow him to throw in the red zone. But as evident this past Sunday, there seems to be a strong aversion to passing the ball inside the 20 and Gibbs wants to just pound it in. I seem to remember that costing the Redskins a couple of games in the second half this year. Division games too. |
Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
You think we can beat Dallas , or TB for that matter, without Sean Taylor?
I dont think we have a better than 10% chance of winning against D, or more than 25% against TB on the road .. yes he means that much to us, he doesnt go down, we dont lose the game against PHI |

JC seems to miss some wide open receivers or throw it where the receiver has a slim chance of catching it. Yes, he doesn't throw it into tight coverage, and that is very much evident in his INT numbers. Sometimes in every game, though, you have to take chances. You can't just play it safe all the time and throw passes where either your guy will get it or no one will. |

Because that's unrealistic. Every year, there are about 10 new starters for teams around the league. Out of those 10, maybe one emerges as an instant success. Last year it was Romo, this year it appears to be Anderson. I have don't care that Campbell didn't immediately light the world on fire. He's showing tremendous potiential and I think he'll be able to put up Roethlisberger or Palmer type numbers very soon. |

What sense does it make to compare someone with 16 career starts to someone like Brady who's an 8 year veteran?? |

The reads he seems miss right now come with time. No one in their 1st full season is like a seasoned vet reading all the coverages and mistakes. Campbell to me is a very good young QB. He is doing what is being asked of him. He plays in a very conservative offense and has limited shots at making things happen down the field. He has shown when given the opportunities to throw more than usual he is more than capable of making plays. Problem is Joe doesn't want him throwing the ball 30 to 35 times a game. he looked to be in good rhythm against Philly for the most part of the game, especially when they spread it out. Another thing to concider is we dont have that 6'2'' + receiver to go up and get the ball for Jason to throw one or two of those types of passes per game. Teams like NE, Dallas have those big receivers that can out jump the DB's. Nothing against Moss, but he's as tall as most of the DB's and I personally wouldn't be comfortable with those toss up passes. Joe showed more confidence in him this week as far as throwing the ball more, and calling his own plays in hurry up, that hopefully we can build on that week to week. We have the potential of putting some points up on the board, if Jason is allowed to play the QB position. |
Re: Pourin' Some Kool-Aid for My Homeys, Redskins Will Beat Dallas
Just like the Eagles was fired up after losing against the Cowboys last week. They came in Redskins stadium and won.
The Redskins lost against the Eagles at home and they are fired up. The Redskins will win at Texas Stadium! |
