Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
I just talked to a friend of mine who knows a couple people around Redskins park, and he IS saying that if he were a betting man, Kyle Orton will be the starter for the redskins come season start, and that R. Tannehill will be sitting behind him learning the WCO ropes. He didnt know, however, if we planned on trading down, or if we nab him with pick #6, or trade up from the second round to nab him, maybe somewhere in the mid 20's.

Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
My question is: Does anyone think we will try and trade up to get Luck? What would you offer for him?

I'd lean toward the plan being taking BPA at 6, and trading back into the first to take RT.[/quote]Unless you can get a good price to trade up into the top three, I think this is probably the best way to play it. I have a bunch of guys ranked ahead of Tannehill who were more accomplished college players, but I'd understand those who prefer what RT does well. His skill set is fairly unique. He doesn't really fit what we currently do, but we could become a Ryan Tannehill offense with very little tweaking of the offense. It would just require drastically different gameplanning with pretty much the same playsheet. The infrastructure to be a good offense with Tannehill is already in place. |
Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
My offseason plan A: (offense)
Re-Sign Fred Davis (Franchise W/E) Sign Ben Grubbs, Dwayne Bowe and possibly Eddie Royal Send #6 pick, 2nd or 3rd rounder, and 2013 1st rounder to St. Louis or Minnesota Draft RGIII Use 4th rounder on Chris Rainey (plays slot and replace Banks) If you can get Jabar Gaffney for Jeremy Jarmon Maybe Moss is worth a 4th or 5th rounder. (Wishful thinking.) Use 2nd 4th on ROT Our opening day offense would be: QB RGIII RB Helu FB Young WR Bowe WR Hank WR Gaffney WR Royal TE Davis TE Cooley LT Williams LG Grubbs C Lichtensteiger/Montgomery RG Chester RT Brown/Smith/Rookie I can live with that. |
Right now I'd want PM, RGIII, Luck, Flynn all ahead of orton

Would you want them in that order? Cause I'd want luck before all others especially manning at this point. |

I think if we did go for luck (who is the only player I'd trade up for) I'd guess that we'd have to swap 2012 firsts, give them our second, fourth, 2013 first and second. Probably more... |
Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
this has been stated by many before and by myself. all the rumors are ridiculous, the skins have to search and have a open mind on all of the FA's QB's and the ones in the draft. there are many different ways for us to get a QB. IMO we have to sign a FA QB no matter what we do, just in case we cant get the QB we want in the draft. Right now any of the FA QB's that have been talked about, it would better than what we had last year, I would take Orton, Flynn, Manning over Grossman or Beck.
It boils down to who they want, it is way too early for all these rumors about the draft, a lot can happen between now and then. i just wish the colts would release manning so i can stop hearing about him. |
Re: Peyton Manning or RGIII your choice
I would like either PM or RGIII, noone else. I don't want us missing out on a top shelf QB being too carefull.
If we take PM I hope we trade down and do the following... QB: PM, Tannehill HB: Helu, Royster, Hightower, James FB: Young WR: Hank, Colston, Royal, Broyles, Gaffney, Austin, Paul, Robinson TE: Davis, Cooley, Paulsen LT: T.Williams/ Polumbus LG: Grubbs C: Lichtensteiger/Montgomery RG: Chester RT: M.Adams/ Smith/ Brown |

So you would be for giving up at least 5 picks for Andrew Luck but against giving 3 (essentially 2 because we are swapping 1st rounders) for Robert Griffin III? |

In order LUCK RG OR MANNING THEN FLYNN |
I'm not so sure the colts won't take Griffin, think about it look at what cam did in Carolina and how much of an impact an athletic big arm accurate qb can bring to any team. Andrew luck is a damn good qb but he'll need a strong oline to really be Manning like. IMO if I'm the colts I'd really discuss taking RG3
