Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

The left side of our OL is going to be a pass rush freeway starting in Game 1. Then we'll see whether Trent or the Skins possess the most leverage.

Personally, I think Smithers has already f'ed up royally by not getting the OL fixed. We're risking getting one or more QB's hurt which will certainly derail our season.

If was Bruce Allen's boss, this is what I would tell him: "Fix it - now!".

p.s. Fix it to me means fix it in whatever way Allen deems appropriate. Just fix it and do it now.

D’Angelo Hall says he has spoken with Trent and he won’t show up. Take it for what it’s worth.

What if Allen deems Penn/Flowers appropriate.

I still think that will be a strong run blocking duo, and most of our passes will be based off of play action.

If the rumor was true with the Pats offering a #1 then shame on Bruce. His pride and ego are getting in the way. You can't bring Trent back at this point.

Re: Trent Williams holding out for new deal

If I was the Defensive Coordinator playing the Redskins I'd stack 8 in the box every play. Stop the run. Make Case pass and make the OL protect him. Then we will see how good the left side of our OL really is.

What happens if Penn (who is 36) gets hurt?
What happens when the OL gives up 5-8 sacks in a game?

How much "leverage" will we have with TW then? How many times do friends of TW have to tell the media that he doesn't want to play for this team, before people get it? That he doesn't trust Bruce Allen?

Would you rather play for a below average team, with a weak fan base, a crappy stadium, one of the worst owners in football, for a VP who is rated at the very bottom of the NFL with TRUSTWORTHYNESS or PREPARATION? Considered one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL?

Or would you like go where you can finish out your career with a team with a possibility of a ring (Patriots), with a winning record, or where YOU CAN MAKE EVEN MORE MONEY!

We are losing leverage everyday. BA has a press interview and says, "TW will be playing here this season." Jay Gruden the day before says that he thinks TW will play here this season. Within two days of those two press events TW reaches out to DeAngelo Hall and say, YET AGAIN, I will never play here! He doesn't say, "I'm hoping we can make a deal" or "I want more money". He says I will never play here again. I know BA is a terrible GM, who frequently mismanages player affairs, but when will the fans wake up.

Trade TW NOW and move on. It's over. He's moved on mentally and is just waiting for the trade. He doesn't care about the money he's losing this year. I genuinely consider the possibility that Dan Snyder is just trying to punish TW for leaving the team and may blow the chance of a #1 draft pick just out of spite.

Why didn't I think of that?! Your solution is much better than mine.

Yes, but get a first round draft pick in the process.

Why fire one of the best LT in the NFL and get nothing for it? What's wrong with just trading him away and forgetting he ever player here? Getting a first round draft pick lets us draft TW replacement. WE will need to draft heavily toward the OL next year to fix that unit and make it elite. Oh and resign Scherff.

Got it! Bruce Allen is a hands down ASS CLOWN and BUFFOON. The worst GM in the NFL. His record is terrible, he is not trusted and not respected by player agents and he has no useful NFL knowledge. He is happy to settle for a mediocre season like 6-10 or 7-9 because then he can crow, "we're just one player or two from being a playoff team."

Yet, he is the lackey and butt boy for Dan Snyder. The more the fans hate BA, the less they think about how bad an owner Snyder is.

Everytime Bruce talks I just want him to get fired in the worst way. He just rubs me the wrong way with his smug ass personality.
