If Rs take the senate and not just the House .. what would change?
I imagine Biden gets impeached on paper, House and Senate Rs pass a series of strategically timed symbolic bills that force Biden to veto things and make him look bad. Imagine no budgets get passed and everything is sequestration like with Obama Imagine there will be enough Rs to push Ukraine war funding to go through, allowing the Rand Paul and MJG of the Rs to vote no Next 2 years are going to be a horse and pony shit show, political grand standing and running to the media to get out the next salacious headline ... with nothing actually being accomplished.
It is the Senate that is in the question it will be 50 50 or 51 49 GOP. I don't think Walker wins next month but even if he did I think the Ukraine war funding will continue, nothing else will. |
Re: 2022 Midterms thread
Nah it is. The remaining votes just don't paint a picture where the Dem over comes the GOP lead there.
I wouldn’t bet on the Dem to win, but she did pick up a nice chunk of the batch last night. Anyway doesn’t matter. I think they take Nevada and we take Georgia and AZ. If it weren’t for the deep south bullshit antiquated run off crap that exists in 2 states the Dems would have Georgia already. |

Was just talking to my old boss yesterday, who now lives in GA. She is very-far left. Was telling her I'm not a fan of these run-offs either. Warnock won. That should be good enough. |

Earlier than what? I was under the impression it was Georgia and Louisiana. Im sure you aren’t making this up but there must be major differences in whatever you are talking about in CA? |

Just look at their results you'll see only 2 candidates in each race and some of them are Blue vs Blue. |

Well that is a little different than a run off. Plenty of red states that follow similar patterns no? Anyway AZ gonna release 60,000 votes tonight. If Herschel fucking Walker is the guy who sways the Senate Im running next time. I may not be a college football star, but I did have the fastest 600 yard dash time in 6th grade. That has to be worth some votes. |

Guam. On a side note, Nevada getting real close. |
Re: 2022 Midterms thread
I need Nevada and Arizona to go blue. I can’t deal with Herschel Walker being the guy to decide it all. It is such a nightmare scenario to me. Trump gets his guy and after all the hurt he put on the red tsunami he would take full credit for everything because it happened last. It would be like losing one of those nail biters to Dallas in the slowest way and Zeke winning it and doing that stupid feed me shit right in my face.

At this point, just let the democrats keep the house too.The possible majority will be so slim, it's probably not even worth having. Let Biden own all 4 years.

Well looks like Masto in Nevada may pull this out. Washau county is what threw off the prognosticators (including me). They were 48.8 to 48.6 in that county at 80% counted. Figured Mastro would only pick up a few hundred at most votes in the last 20%, instead seems last 20% broke heavily for her (2 or 3 to 1 - my top of the head guess). Oh well. |

Re: 2022 Midterms thread
I've gone back and forth on how I feel about not voting in person. It's 2022, so I can see arguments for why we shouldn't have to show up physically if we don't want to.
But if you're not voting in person, you should have to send in your vote 2 weeks before election day. And those votes should be counted immediately. This is absolutely absurd waiting for at least 1 week after election day for some results. And yes, I think election day, should be election long weekend or something. I want everyone to vote once, but I also think it's absurd to have to wait this long for all of the results to be in. |

So when the election is over we don't have to wait and wait and wait. It's ridiculous. Send the ballots in earlier and start counting them once they are received. It shouldn't be that difficult to do. |
