Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
LOL. I'm still laughing at the Jets for signing Sanchez to that huge contract after last year. WTF was Tannebum doing? Why did the owner even approve that shit knowing his QB sucked.
Now, they are stuck with Sanchez next year because he has 8.3 million in guaranteed money. Interesting note on Tebow: Tebow takes a seat: As expected, Tebow was inactive. He was medically cleared, sources said, but he sat based on a coach's decision. Rapid Reaction: Jets 7, Cardinals 6 - Jets Blog - ESPN New York
Well might as well go with him. He did get them to the AFC Championship twice and I seriously doubt any team is going to fix their QB situation this offseason with the draft and the odds of finding a good free agent QB are extremely rare. The only decent solution I can think of is trading for Matt Flynn. That or draft Geno Smith. Ironically though in looking forward to the 2014 draft there isn't a promising sure fire first rounder thats trending in the right direction. Just a bunch of looks like Tarzan plays like Jane types. Sure an Andy Dalton, Russell Wilson, or even an RG3 could emerge but right now it's not looking promising. We might be even luckier then we think to have not only scooped up RG3 but Kirk Cousins as well as the QB market is starting to mirror the early 2000's. |

I think the Jets should continue to start McElroy. |
I don't really think Kaepernick is all that great. What has he done that Smith didn't do?

Early Draft: Geno Smith and Matt Barkley 2nd or 3rd Round: Tyler Wilson, Mike Glennon Free Agency or Trade: Alex Smith, Matt Flynn, Michael Vick, Matt Moore Great year to need a QB eh boys? |

I think it's more about his physical abilities. Better runner, bigger arm, more upside. |

Sanchez was amazing in that win :hitfan: |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Guys, do you all really think Luck is better than RG III and should be ROY?
RG III has been NFC player of the week twice ( should have been a third time last week as he had a better statistical game the Cam in a much bigger game ) and has been named the Offensive rookie of the month 2 out of 3 possible months this season. He has transformed one of the worst offenses in the league for the past how many years? into one of the best scoring teams in the league. Luck is benefitting from an entire team being led by their coaches personal problems and the energy that it has created on a local and national scale. They are saving him from all of his mistakes. RG III on the other hand has single handedly inspired, drove, and led his team to the success they are having. The defensive players that have played RG III have raved about his complete game and amazing athleticism. I don't hear that from others around the league regarding the other two. To me there is no question he is the ROY if he finishes the way he has started. Even if he brings the skins to a 8-8 season it is pretty remarkable considering how poor our defense is. ( still believe he has the ability to get us to 9-7 or 10-6 ) He appears to be a guy that has the ability to show everyone something they have never seen. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
RG3 over Luck just based on the fact Luck sounds like a young Andre the Giant when he speaks. I just cant deal with that.

:laughing2 that's my favorite reason |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
2 other points.
1 How many times has RG III led us into winning games late to either have the chance taken away because of penalties or our defense giving up the lead late without time to get it done? 2 The strengths of our schedule vs theirs. I may be completely wrong and seen as bias but I really do see a gap between the two players. Both are going to be good but RG III has shown greatness in so many ways on and off the field. |

Kicked the shit of the bears defense, beat NO at their stadium. I love RGIII but there are other great young players out there too. Yes, RGIII is electrifying and great but you have to give credit to other players too. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
If you're talking about winning drives -- Luck with two TDs with 2:39 mins to go is not bad either.
Indianapolis Colts vs. Detroit Lions - Recap - December 02, 2012 - ESPN
I think it's a hard decision between RG3 and Luck now. Luck almost certainly has taken his team to the playoffs, and had what most ppl thought was a pretty bad team. He doesn't have much running game to support him, and his defense has been pretty bad. RG3 is statistically great, hasn't had his #1 WR or TE, and has been clutch in tight / pivotal games and is a walking highlight reel & cult-phenomenon. However, he has had a running game behind him and we're only 5-6 right now. I think right now RG3 deserves the ROY, but I think Luck gets it if he goes to the playoffs and we don't. |

That sounds more like a point in favor of Luck. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
He has a running game that is vastly more successful because of his ability. We do not have a defense so to speak, if we did this team would not be 5-6. With Rak, BM, AC, and TJ playing this team is not 5-6.
I am not saying RG III is the only good young guy out there either, but I am saying he is a step above the rest. |

I will give Luck and Wilson all do credit for playing well throughout the season. Didn't know kapnerick played on defense to kick the shit out of the bears and not to impressed with him beating Saints in the Dome, RG3 beat them there too. The chiefs even won there so, show me more Kapernick |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Failed to score more than 13 on the Rams today.

He's like a poor man's RGIII, he can run, has a stronger arm, more physical. He did kick their ass on offense, Bears are over rated in my opinion. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Cowboys are an embarrassment, Jerry Jones is looking as red as a tomato from being humiliated.

Well I believe you, I can't even spell his name. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Do people ever cover Witten? He always seems so wide open.
Also, if I'm the Cowboys, I'd never huddle. They only seem to score when there's hardly any time left. |

The cowboys are there own worst enemy, when they can run the ball they are a very hard team to stop. We will see if Garrett sticks with the run.

Guess that guy didn't get to his lucky seat in a strangers house today.
|
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
Bryce Brown with 3 fumbles in 2 games already. He's working his way out of the NFL fast. This last one went back for 6 for the Cowboys.

Philadelphia is worse than they've been in 15 years. They may finish 4-12

Who are they going to beat? They have the Bucs, Bengals, Skins, and Giants left. Looks like 3-13 to me. |
Don't laugh. They'll beat The giants and that will help us win the east.
|
Actually I could see them beating tb also. I'm not a huge bucs guy

Another week, another Eagles coach not named Andy Reid fired. This time Jim Washburn. Maybe he shouldn't have said Babin was being made a scapegoat

They keep this up, they'll have to rehire Juan Castillo just so they will have somebody else to fire before the season's end. :laughing- Posted article for Smoots news break: Philadelphia Eagles fire defensive line coach Jim Washburn amid 8-game skid - ESPN |

Wow. How long can you fire other guys, and not think it's coming down on you too. Really why not just let the coaches that have been with you have the same dignity of choosing when to go that Lurie is giving you. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
I don't get Andy Reid at this point. He's getting rid of everyone when he's going to get fired himself. What good does it do to fire the D-line coach with 4 games to go?
|

The players better be worried too because it ultimately comes down to them as well. I think that team gets blown up. Nnamdi, Jenkins, Vick, and many more will be cut after the season. I would cut DeSean Jackson as well. Hasn't done jack shit to earn that contract. |
Re: Around the NFL ... Week 13 edition
I never thought Desean was all that great. He made plays but not really spectacular ones. It's always like "oh he's fast and ran away from that slow db". There are dozens of guys who can do that. He's more a product or decent QB play and scheme than anything.

I would take him in a heartbeat. He's like Brandon Banks, but good. |

You haven't had him on your FF this past 2 years. He has been anything BUT good. DeSean Jackson, WR for the Philadelphia Eagles at NFL.com Numbers have gone down the past 2 years. |

no, but put him at returner and run the endarounds that Banks does and I bet his numbers would go back up. As for declining the last two years, one was a contract situation, then this year with injuries, and the state of the eagles in general, hard to fault Jackson alone. |
