No doubt. They went the Vinny Cerrato method of building a team.

Also, bad challenge by the Lions. Pass wasn't tipped.
It looked to me like it was but just barely. We'll see I guess.

I'll clarify my statement. It's ....holy shit..it's overturned.

I didn't think it was sufficient enough evidence to overturn it. Well, it was a good challenge after all.

Well, Vinny would have been fired if we got Cutler...since it was part of an attempt to snatch Shanahan. XD. The other Skins' QB trades has some Gibbsian fingerprints.

Bears can't catch a break. Defensive PI negated by challenge due to ball being tipped.

Lions just spotted them another penalty on third down

Also what's the record for most penalties to start a game? :D

Re: Around the NFL Week 5

Lions are ****ing idiots. They are just destroying all their good plays from the defense with these stupid penalties. The game is ugly.

Ruhskins 10-10-2011 09:15 PM

Wow, what a BS call.

Think I just saw the worst roughing the passing call ever. When refs make calls like that they should get suspended and fined just like the players do. So awful.

This game is getting hard to watch. Someone take the flags from the refs.

Yeah very sloppy play by both sides. Can there be such a thing as too hyped up? I hope they settle down.

Not only that, but then they keep the flags in their pockets after Vanden Bosch cheap shotted Cutler on that offsides play. Seriously, I don't want make up calls like they do in the NHL. Call it right the first time.

mooby 10-10-2011 09:22 PM

That Vicks commercial is preposterous. NFL coaches don't sleep. :laughing-

Lovie Smith is a fool. Also, I'm glad we don't have to play the Lions this year.

Ruhskins 10-10-2011 09:24 PM

Does Lovie Smith know he only has 3 TOs in the first half?

Agreed on both counts. I can see why Lovie Smith is so renowned for his crappy use of timeouts and challenges.

mooby 10-10-2011 09:27 PM

10 combined penalties in the first quarter. Horrible. Not sure what the various records for penalties are but they've gotta be off to a good start to beat 'em lol.

Brady-Welker and Megatron-Stafford are the two hottest WR pairs this season.

Wonder if Chris Carter is enjoying chewing on the big foot of his? Bet he puts CJ in the top WR list next year...lol

mooby 10-10-2011 09:34 PM

Boy, Cris Carter looks more and more dumb with each game Calvin Johnson plays.

He wasn't even the best WR on his own team, never the less the NFL....lol

Jay Cutler would be nasty if he had any decent WRs. Feel for the dude.

Damn straight. His skillset is elite. His buddies...not really.

mooby 10-10-2011 10:01 PM

This is gonna be a close game. Jay cutler, for all his flaws, is still capable of playing good football. That touchdown drive was all him.

Cutler is better than Stafford IMO

Man, some of the throws Cutler has made tonight were pretty great considering he usually can't set his feet. lol.

Lions have made their adjustment on Da Bears. Best is loving those runs to the right.

Also, Keiland Williams sighting.

lol, 7 false starts.

Not only that, a foreign object on the field. LOL.

SirClintonPortis 10-10-2011 11:10 PM

Re: Around the NFL Week 5

I think it's official. Jim Schwartz is to DLs like Andy Reid is to QBs: he makes them all look beastly.

Also, the 8th Chicago false start was on a punt. lol

NC_Skins 10-10-2011 11:13 PM

Re: Around the NFL Week 5

The false starts are just inexcusable. I stand by my prediction that Lovie Smith will be fired after the season. Their OL is bad, their WR still sucks, and their defense is old. They are going backwards instead of progressing. The Lions on the other hand have one of the best (and young) teams in the NFL. They only need to pick up a CB,S, LB and they are pretty much set to be a dynasty for the next 7-8 years.

Edwin Williams. Another former Skin.

NC_Skins 10-10-2011 11:27 PM

Re: Around the NFL Week 5

That's the problem with Mike Martz system. It leaves the QB open to be sacked a lot and take a good amount of shots. Look no further than when he was in St. Louis. Warner, Green, and Bulger all got rocked in that system. Cutler isn't going to survive the season if this continues.

Let's get to the playoffs first, then maybe a Super Bowl somewhere in there before we start talking dynasty.

put on the breaks. They need a line to protect their QB and keep him healthy a full season, before they can even go to a couple superbowls, then playoffs, then whatever and we call them a dynasty

We will make it to the playoffs this year by winning the NFC East where we will loose to the Lions in the first round
