Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
The thought has occurred to me that the reason we keep accumulating Alabama players has at least something to do with a long term play to lure Nick Saban to succeed Jay Gruden.

Ive had the same thought recently and I wouldn't be opposed to that happening. |
Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
I heard Saban does want another crack at the NFL. He strikes me as the kind of guy that wants to prove he is the best anyplace anywhere.

Why would Saban ever leave Bama. He hated his time in Cleveland and failed miserably with Miami. He is a God in college. |
Bob Papa said this looks like a desperation move by the skins FO, Meaning they know if things go south like they appear, guys will lose jobs. Most are clowning the skins after this move but IMO I think it's a easy decision. If he can't play no harm is done and if he can play he may be a good addition.
It is a desperation move. Have you see our run defense the last several weeks? |

Logically I agree, but human ego is such that there's sometimes a desire to prove you can do more. Maybe he will stay in Alabama, you might be right. But humans don't always do what makes logical sense. |
Twitter post from Chris Russel:
To add to this from last night: Told this morning that key personnel people AND some important assistant coaches are not on board with acquisition of Foster. What matters? Jay Gruden, Bruce Allen & Dan Snyder approved it. #Redskins” Fuck this team. Gruden sucks as a coach, Bruce Allen is worthless garbage, and Snyder is the worse owner in sports. Pure filth. A disgrace to people like Joe Gibbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Joe Gibbs coached plenty of guys w/ questionable character. Did he cut Sean Taylor after he got into a few off the field incidents? Dexter Manley had a few too and he got 2nd and 3rd chances. Everyone is treated differently based on how good you are. There's a clip on one of the Americas Game episodes where Jimmy Johnson cut a back up LB for falling asleep in a meeting. He was asked if Aikman did the same what would happen. Johnson replied, " I'd simply tap Troy on the shoulder and tell him to wake up." |

A shit ton of money, and the challenge of redeeming himself at the pro level. |
Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
I guess the eagles were also interested in Foster:

Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
Saban is 67 years old, it would make no sense to leave Alabama for the NFL at that age.

Has a 75 million dollar package thru 2025 when he will be about 73. I dont think he cares about redemption. But who knows. |
Re: Redskins have claimed LB Reuben Foster
I would take Saban in a heartbeat but I doubt he leaves Bama, he's the king there
What I do know is there was only one NFL team that even spoke to the Tampa police inquiring as to what transpired for this latest domestic violence arrest. And that team was not the Redskins.
And I understand it is all 'alleged'. But in this instance, the victim had visibly 'alleged wounds' to include scratches and bruises. Stunned at your stereotype. I assume you are single?
I agree. Women do lie about these type of things all the time. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if he did it or not. I want him here because of his talent. |

While that's great...his friend Bill Belichick is still held in much higher regard in that coaching fraternity because its the professional level. I think Saban is aware of that and wouldn't dispute that fact. |

Apples and oranges. Let Saban have the same players at Bama like a Tom Brady for a decade. He would never lose - he doesn’t anyway. Lol. You are coaching teenagers. You have to recruit. They have standards that must be met. Ask people in Alabama or down south for that matter if they give a fuck about the NFL. Nope. College is no cakewalk compared to the pros. He coached under BB in Cleveland so of course he would give him the respect but Bear Bryant is as much a legend as Vince Lombardi. |
