Imo, this is a pretty bad look by Levon Bell...kinda surprised. Dude...over 14 million per for a RB...you need to show up for work. Gotta be a let down for team...I think this could really back fire for him
So unprofessional. Pittsburgh is handling it the right way. Either play for us or stay home and pass on 14 million. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 1.
consider these 2 "doomsday" scenarios:
1) he signed his tender Wednesday and played wk 1 under the tag with a guaranteed $14million. He blows out his leg, and career ends. or 2) he signs his tag at the last week possible. He plays that week, and has the same career ending injury. In this case though, he gets $5.5million. Granted both sums of money are outrageously large to me, and likely everyone on this board, but still the risk of losing an extra 9million seems like a bad move to me.
These are the rules that were set by the owners and the union. No one asked Bell to play RB for a living. He made that choice. If he doesn't want to play under the rules that were set then he can just stay home, which he has obviously decided to do. Also no one's career ends these days when a knee is blown out. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 1.
I find it interesting we are using words and phrase's like ...."fighting the system" and "trap players","his Freedom","Obligation" and I love this one....."his current boss owns him" .... about a football player looking to make 14 million DOLLARS for a season. We seem to forget that that player (and others) all agreed to the way it is through "Collective Bargaining". This is the way the business side of football runs Bell and his representatives know this .Yes he has to do what is right for him I get it but please let's not make this out like he is a slave,he is an employee and working the system that is in place for him to achieve his desired goal for himself and his family, simply put.
I never said slavery and if certain words make you uncomfortable then that is your issue. You can get help for that. My point is you and I can decide where we want to work and can maximize our income by shopping our talents to multiple employers creating a bidding scenario. That is all I meant by freedom and ownership. Dont put words in my mouth. After five years of obligation to the team that drafted you that should be enough. The Franchise tag is a tool for owners to prevent player movement and to try and keep salaries down. Basically saving the owners from themselves, because it is another owner that is bidding for your player. Most Redskins fans did not like the first time we franchised KC. Much less the second time. It was a mistake and very unpopular. |

Also, Tyrod Taylor is straight trash. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Alot of the game goes to the Minn D. KC mismanaged the end of the first half, but he definitely likes being Minnesota so I expect he will be better throughout the season. |
