Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
The Falcons offense really did hang their defense out to dry. The final time of possession was 40:31 for the Patriots and 23:37 for the Falcons. Almost double the amount of time they controlled the ball. Looking at the stats, you'd think that Matt Ryan had a fantastic game, but this is where numbers should be put into context.
1-8 on third down conversions. Horrible. Couldn't convert a third down to save their lives. Stupid play calling, stupid execution. This game wasn't as much as how Tom Brady won the game, it's more about how fucking inept the Falcons were to actually blow this game. They had to put in some insane effort to lose a game that had them pegged at 97% chance of winning. Say what you want to about the Warriors and Indians in their choke jobs, but those were 3 separate games. This loss would be like the Indians blowing a 10 game lead in the bottom of the 7th in game 7. Kyle only had Freeman rush 11 times, and Coleman 7 times. SMH. He's a brilliant guy, but he often tries to be too cute and ends up failing badly. I imagine his tenure in San Francisco won't last long at all.
Niner fans think he's the Savior to all of their problems.. He won't have the talent he had in DC or ATL anytime soon out there. I think he has potential to be a damn good HC though, dude is smart and gets his players in great positions to succeed, as he did in Washington with RG3. Look at what he's done since Kyle left? Zero. So we'll see. Last night was on the whole Atlanta team |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjRlSxvgssE
No. They were on the what...22 yard line? You don't throw the ball...you run it twice, eat clock and kick it. You provide a lift psychologically to the defense. That sequence cost them the game and its on Kyle. Just like Pete should have run Lynch. |

At one time in the 3rd quarter, the Falcons were averging 6.8 yards per run. |
Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
There are so many plays that lost the game for Atl. But after the ridiculous catch by Jones that's when you run the ball and if you get to 3rd down call a real safe pass or even a draw. But you have to get 3 there and the game is most likely over.
So tired of Author Blank coming down on the sidelines. He looks like such a attention grabbing tool when he does that. |

Sometimes these OC's try and think they're smarter than everyone else. It just ain't that fucking hard. You run the ball after that Jones catch. The HC should have made sure of that so I really don't blame Kyle there. It's on the HC. |

I think we as fans are conditioned by offenses with big fantasy numbers and what gets lost is basic winning fundamentals. I guarantee this next year. I guaren-fucking-tee it. We will not make the playoffs unless we start running the ball more effectively and make a commitment too it in pivotal situations. You cant tell me we cant run it with our Oline...its very solid and could be even better this coming season if we add a LG. Cousins aint winning this by himself. He isn't that type of QB. Matt Ryan isn't either. Brady, P manning, Aaron Rogers and Drew Brees are those type of QB. For Cousins to take his game to the next level, he clearly needs a better running game. |
Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
What I saw in that game was...
Shanahan did start play calling conservatively, but it was more about the defense not blitzing or putting pressure on Brady that lead to his comeback more than the Falcons offense. We also saw the power of having a true franchise quarterback. You see it with Brees, Rogers, Stafford. I saw it in 2012 with the RG (only year that I saw it). When the players around Brady raise their game because of the confidence that they have in him to achieve. Speed Kills. The skins should take a page out of Atlanta book for player selection. Because if they didn't take their foot off the gas they would have beat the Pats. |

Then we'll have a running game. p.s. That's only my nickname for him. |

Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
skinsfan69 totally agree. after that catch quinn should have marched up and down that sideline, until he found shanahan, and told him its time to win the super bowl. run the ball, we kick the field goal, and we win the super bowl. its that easy. and most of these coaches do think they invented football. thats why you see dumb crap like this

I don't know...if McC with his blessings takes him at 17...Im good with it. His draft profile gave me a woodrow: Full-on, grown man with outstanding definition throughout his body. Built like a linebacker with speed like a receiver. Long, powerful strides get speedy turnover. Click and go runner who hits his second gear faster than most big backs you'll ever see. Able to accelerate and scream around the corner for chunk runs against linebackers lacking speed or urgency to the edge. Powerful hips and thighs shake defenders right off. Tacklers better bring full force and technique. Always the hammer and never the nail. Violent finisher looking to intimidate run-support safeties with crushing blows behind lower pads. Runs feet through any and all contact. Has balance and power to plow through tackle attempts on an angle. Punishing stiff arms go viral. Has experience running from two-back, single-back and off-set looks. Hands are adequate in passing game. Can create for himself with power and speed. Wins in short-yardage and goal-line situations. NFL Comparison: Bo Jackson I would love us to go all tecmo bowl |
Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
Kyle Shanahan fucked up bad. I have never seen a worse case of a coach losing a easy winnable game. Twice up by more than a touchdown in the fourth quarter, on the Pats 30 yard line, he comes out in shot gun. Telling the defense he is going to pass. Sack, then holding penalty. Out of field goal range. The other time it was a sack and fumble.
He abandoned the run when he was up by multiple touchdowns. The sad part is the run was working. Even if he ran the ball (which would chewed up the clock) and was stopped on downs, you kick the two field goals. The game would have been out of reach and out of time. Kyle fucked up bad. I hope this teaches our offense to stop being so one dimensional and being so in love with one thing, in this case the pass. |
Re: Super Bowl 51 Week
This was the most important play in the game.
When it happened was key. Can't-Miss Play: Dont'a Hightower makes pivotal strip sack - NFL Videos |
