Can we lay off the excuses? No matter what MS has had 4 yrs to accomplish something. Most HC's get better each year. MS got worse two yrs in a row, then had a play off season, and now worse then the first two. I would have probably been more in MS's corner had MS shown that the team was getting better each yr, that there was improvement somewhere but there has not been. Defensively nothing has changed... no better no worse... but last in the league. Offensively there is always an excuse for why we suck. Always. Oh its the HC, oh its the WR's, oh its the QB, oh its the scheme, oh its the monetary penalty, its always something. Maybe, just maybe it's the owner is why we suck? New toy or not can't he just keep his hands out of the cookie jar until this team does something spectacular?

I guess if RG3 is, what DS wants to believe is our franchise QB, then you might as well bring in the HC that made RG3 what he was in college. Otherwise RG3 will have to change and I can tell you RG3 looks horrible as a pocket passer. Maybe he can develop but he's not under this horrid OL and blocking scheme.
Ummmmm....did you even read my post? Who is making excuses. I could not have called out MS any more blatantly than I did.
WOW thanks for that info....Art Briles would be a horrible hire, Jason Campbell played well at Auburn why didnt we bring in their coach after Gibbs left? We need a defensive guy here, the offense has potential.
Ok you want a Defensive Guy. Thanks for sharing. but whoever takes the reigns they are going to have to figure out how to get this offense AND defense fixed.

I would has how many Defensive HC's have won a SB, but ... in either case you bring in a Defensive HC and what do we do offensively? you won't get Art (which is probably what you want) to be OC, so then your trying to find some other coach who can fix RG3 or your hoping Cousin's who was picked for cheap gets the nod.

I really do give a F who the coach is anymore at this point. This team is F'd as long as we have the owner we have. No Cousins is traded this offseason for whatever we can get..

"Briles coached Griffin in college and maintains a strong connection with the QB and his family." this a quote from a CBS article........This a wrong reason to hire a coach for one player.

and I added an EDIT. I apologize. for some reason I quoted you. Again... Sorry.

and as far as excuses I'm referring to everyone. The HC, the media, the fans, etc. etc.

But it will make him look bad that fans are not in the seats. Plus no fans, no food and other sales like shirts and so forth.

However I'd think lack of viewers might do something to him as well. Could be wrong. Maybe it was already paid up by the tv stations.

Personally I don't know if RG3 is a franchise QB or not. But... if DS is all in on this way of thinking since we gave up the farm for RG3 then why wouldn't you do whatever possible to make RG3 a success? and if RG3 was successful with Art then why wouldn't you do everything possible to get Art here?

That's all I'm saying.

Personally I wanted Gruden and still do.

Then hire him as a QB coach or an OC. You shouldn't make your head coach solely responsible for developing a QB. A QB who right now has more questions than answers. I love RG3 but the next head coach should be able to come in and win his way, not with Snyder dictating that someone must be your QB.

Redskins will probably hire Gruden because he is a name and he will draw media attention and people will start on the bandwagon again... then he will fail because the organization is poorly run and to be honest, he doesn't have a great track record with sustaining success.

Re: Chiefs vs. Skins Post-Game

I really hope Briles is just speculation. Hiring Briles isn't going to do much to quiet down the whole, "Redskins catering to RG3" thing. I can't say I'd be upset if he did get hired though, at least RG3 would be working with a guy who knows exactly what he's all about and vice versa.

Dude your preaching to the choir. All I'm saying is if DS is 100% in on RG3 which it sounds like he is if they play "Duck, Duck, Goose" together off the field then to get any type of production out of RG3 you might as well bring in a coach that already has gotten production out of RG3.

I wanted Gruden before MS. I still want Gruden. Gruden is also a great QB coach. But does he like RG3? What if he see's more pocket passing development out of Cousin's? I don't care what we gave up for RG3, I want the best QB on the field and if the new HC thinks its Cousins then put Cousins out there. That's my belief. But will DS allow it?

skinsfaninok 12-08-2013 08:10 PM

Gruden is staying at ESPN is what they say anyway
