Exactly! I don't want Jon Gruden anywhere near this team. It's a mistake to want him over Mike Shanahan.
Yep, mistake that he took the Raiders to a SB, then a mistake he went to a totally different team with a totally different QB and took them to a SB. I preferred him over MS, but ... we got MS. I didn't complain, MS had a pretty good record also. The key is there really is no good answer. Look at Coughlin, making him a HC was questionable at best but he panned out for the Giants. Look at the Chiefs, everyone said Reid was washed up ( I would love to have had him), but his team is winning. Look at Denver, I never would have figured Jon Fox to fix his old looking antiquated system, but the Bronco's look good. So I wouldn't completely pass on Gruden. Plus he's had a chance to see what teams around the league and what works and doesn't work. |

Mike Shanahan should be fired. More importantly, he deserves to be fired. I'm not sure Gruden is the right guy for this job, that's for Snyder to figure out, but I do know we won't be running the triple option if he is the coach. |

Re: Gruden Says Start Cousins
He didn't take Oakland to the SB but that was his team. That was his offense. He made Rich Gannon into a star. Made Brad Johnson into a SB QB. If I'm Dan Snyder, Jon Gruden is the first person that I'm getting on the phone. I think he's just what this team needs.

Gruden would run some sort of west coast-spread hybrid. I guess we'll know for sure next season... maybe |

Any possibility we keep things family style and end up with a Jon and Jay combo? lol |

I think the inherent competitive aspect between siblings could produce awesome results, assuming they're mature enough to leave bickering aside and anything that could distract from team focus. |

I thought you said on here earlier that he had no interest in coaching again. Did something change? |

I'm not sure there would be enough room for those egos. One Gruden is probably more than plenty in one building at a time. Besides, if we're hiring Jon don't we want him running the offense? That's his specialty after all. |

He said a couple weeks ago that he does want to coach again soon |
Re: Gruden Says Start Cousins
Jon and Jay did work together in Tampa, so I don't think it's a big deal.
