A damn good writeup. |
Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
This will be too expensive for us to seriously entertain, and a guy coming off an ACL tear who relies on speed is a risk at that price. (And if you disagree, I guess you're not at all worried about RGIII coming back 100%. While I think he will definitely heal and do all the rehab he needs to, every time he gets whacked from now on, I will be holding my breath about that knee.)
It's a dead letter, folks. We'd have to give up way too much and I think the last two years shows that Shanny wants to build through the draft. |
Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
We wouldn't pay him top 5 money with BA in charge. There is better value out there.
dude, Revis > Orakpo. Not really an arguement
I obviously agree with that. But the more valuable position to a defense is an outside linebacker that creates pressure. Plus orakpo won't take around 15 million in cap space. |
Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
"The problem with Revis is that he views himself as the best defensive player in the NFL and wants to be paid top dollar, a number which is currently represented by DE Mario Williams who makes $16 million a year with $24.9 million in firm guarantees."
.......mmmmm...no thanx |
Re: Darrelle Revis is up for trade per Jets owner
It depends what the Jets new GM wants in exchange for Revis...this is a trade Vinny Cerratto would have been stupid enough to make....possibly sending a 1st rounder to the Jets for Revis...Vinny makes me laugh because of how incompetent he was as a GM....but Allen and Shanahan would do the wise thing....tell the Jets that this guy is coming off an ACL injury where he missed the whole season, but for all we know, he's not worth nothing more than a 4th round pick....and we'll throw in a 2nd string player to go along with the deal....
If the Jets GM does not agree, then it's no big deal...but at least we don't gamble on a player coming off a season ending injury.... |

No its not. Its a corner who can effectively take away 1 half the field or play the best man coverage in the game. Orakpo and his skill set are not all pro like Revis |

No, but someone will. He's been the best CB in the last 5 years. Thats too much money still. But in regards to Orakpo, how much are you gonna give him? Think alot people are gonna be surprised when we let him walk, Carlos style. |

Right but to compare Orakpo to Revis? Its not close, at all. |

Orakpo has been a bust IMO. Sorry but he's a 1st rounder and really has only had 1 good season. Not even close to compare, revis is elite |

A damn good writeup.
And I'm thrilled that the Skins are not mentioned as a possible destination for him. The Vinnie days are so absolutely, positively over... |

When he was healthy he was rated 15th by PFF in sacks, hits, hurries. He's definately an effective pass rusher. Thats where he ranked in pressures per play, it wasn't an opinion stat. I wouldn't make a trade for revis for anything, because he's gonna be free agent after this coming season no matter how much you give up for him. |

That's a bit strong of a criticism. We saw this season how much of a difference Rak makes; and for the entirety of '11 he was playing injured. Certainly he hasn't been what we hoped, and he definitely isn't the game changer that Revis is, but he's a very good player who would start on any team; you can't reasonably expect much more than that from a mid-first round pick. You can want more and you can hope for more, but you can't expect more. He's far from a bust. |
