Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
I saw in the article posting on ESPN about the cap hit, that we have signed Colston?
I take that to mean we have a deal inplace waiting for the appointed time to put ink to paper. |

Besides, even if we had signed him to a deal, we would've been violating NFL rules for talking to other teams' players while they're still under contract. Now that they could've seriously punished us for. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
So, if the Skins announce a VJax signing at 4:10pm, will the league impose the tampering violation at 4:20?
[/sarcasm] Seriously though, how soon does anyone think the first FA deal get announced? and will it be the Skins or someone else? |

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
We don't need a lot of first round picks. If we sign Winston we took care of the two tackles, what we need are corners, guards and depth for the online, receiver and safeties and their aren't many of those in free agency, however their are a lot of good guards coming out this year in the draft like the kid Silatolu from Midwestern State who just mauls people and seems like that kind of olinemen that went to a small school but has heart and a mean streak. There are a lot of good corners or players that played corner like Johnson from Montana and could possibly move to safety. Ryan Broyles is a great slot receiver and their is that kid who went to a small school his name i completely forget (I just found out it was Brian Quick), Cooley hopefully will start to work hard again cause he has a qb which will give us Cooley and Davis(this is hopeful) we don't need a first round pick in order to add depth and make our team better. If you want to be the Eagles and probably never win a superbowl with their current roster then build through free agency. But we can draft players and sign a few key guys and we will be ok. I believe in Griffin
I'm not sure we're really disagreeing on anything here. Basically we need to utilize the draft and make a few key plays in free agency; because we made the Griffin trade, that balance is going to be skewed a bit. I'm not advocating anything like what the Eagles did last year, or the things that we've done in the past, but in the event that the team has developed a well-deserved phobia of expensive free-agents, this might be a year to reconsider. |

In previous years some deals have been done within the hour of FA starting. Only in cases where teams seriously f up with tampering do they get punished, i.e. the 49ers a couple years ago for talking to Briggs when they weren't allowed. |
Colston should have stayed anyway
