Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I can't stand how reckless Rex is at times. With that being said, let's get some more depth if there isn't a franchise QB available at 6. Get as many picks as we can, and hopefully a few for next years draft.

One guy not being mentioned and flying under the radar is Russell Wilson.

6th pick going to Rams as part of deal for Bradford. Fisher gets some ammo to build around RG3 when he's ready to take over for Peyton Manning

Whoa. You're talking about a guy with a 6th round grade from Scouts Inc. I mean sure his stock can improve but when was the last time you saw a guy jump from late round pick to first or second rounder in a matter of 3 or 4 months? |

I'm not talking about getting him with the 6th pick, but in the lower rounds. |

Hard to get above the radar, literally, when you're only 5'10". :) |

I know, I was being more facetious than anything. Wilson can ball. |

That would be IDEAL! I just don't see it happening. I think Bradford stays put, they take that 2nd pick and select Blackmon. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Yes I would do that, and yes, please explain your thoughts as to why it could happen.
I think the key is getting to the no. 2 pick first, then offering the Colts a sweet deal to swap the two picks.
So you offer the 6th overall pick and next year's first to move up from 6th to 2nd. That's the move that gives you the key to the draft. You could select RG3 with that pick, but depending on who the Colts hire, you can pay them for the "right to choose", something I am estimating which would cost a second round pick and a delayed second. I don't think anyone outside of the team that's picking second is going to be able to get the top pick away from the Colts, but if they are even considering taking Griffin first overall, that means they can be bought. But only by the team picking right below them. I think the total deal would cost the Redskins two firsts and two seconds. But it's also the only way you get the Colts to trade the first pick, by giving them the second pick. |

No way does Wilson get taken in the first round, none the less the first 10 picks. |

I thought it was a legit possibility only if the Rams had the first pick, but was told this afternoon it's still quite possible. Will provide more info later |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
I'm not very high on Russell Wilson. I didn't think he was much of a prospect at NC State.
Those plays he makes with his arm and legs outside the pocket will certainly translate well to the pro game. And he sells play action pretty well. But Wilson plays with no concept of the pocket or timing in an offensive system. He essentially is just winging it out there. And the tendency to break the pocket at the first sign of pressure, or even just because the play is just taking too long is not what you want in a pro QB. There are scrambling QBs who are much more able from the pocket than Russell Wilson is. His arm is NFL caliber and he's a top level athlete, but there is zero play to play consistency in this game. If anything, I'm surprised by what he has achieved this year at Wisconsin. He does remarkable things to throw his team back into games. But it would be almost impossible to construct an offense with him as your quarterback. |
