Re: Redemption Week!!
To me it's not so much about how many passes we throw at the beginning. A few passes to get them to respect the pass might not be a bad thing.
But when the game is done, I want to see that we've run the ball at least 35 times. |
Re: Redemption Week!!
Does anyone happen to remember a game that the patriots played against the steelers early in like 2002 or 2003, where they opened the game with like 20 straight passes? took them totally by surprise. I am not saying we should do that, just saying Philly has probably been game planning for stopping the run from the get-go and we might be able to surprise them early with a vertical attack or two.
I am probably over thinking it, and we should just line up and knock their D line and Lbs on their butts! |

"No, that's not true," Reid said Wednesday. "I didn't offer it to anybody. That was all fabricated. "I wasn't in touch with anybody. Nobody, nothing, zero." Mangini, who now does NFL analysis for ESPN, reportedly turned down the offer Reid says he never made. Hmmmm... |
Re: Redemption Week!!
I have to imagine MS is still pissed about the running up of the score. I hope there is a nice game plan in place and that it works out as planned. I seriously hope MS returns the favour and runs up the score on them just to let them see how it feels and to take control of the NFCE while putting distance between the other NFCE teams.

Re: Redemption Week!!
Right now I think we'd be lucky to run up the score on anybody. I just want to see sustained drives that keep the ball out of the Iggles hands as much as possible. The more we pound the ball and wear out the defense the better. Helu running the ball on a tired defense in the second half would be wonderful to see. When we pass I'd like to see Davis involved early and often. Get a lead and let the dogs loose. (Rak and Kerrigan) Vick should like that.

Its time for the SKins to do "The Big Dirty" to the Eagles.

As pissed as I was, just like everybody else, about that humiliating debacle, I didn't think that the Eagles ran up the score. In the NFL, no team can afford to put the brakes on before halftime, so the blame for the 45 points they scored in the first half I saw as exclusively the fault of our defense. In the second half, the second of the two touchdowns the Eagles scored came on a pick-6, and they didn't score at all in the 4th quarter. |

No doubt. We sucked and they did what any Pro team would do. I hope we can do the same to them this year. |

They're front 7 is pillow soft, particularly right up the middle. We should use all three backs and just pound it right at them, chewing clock and keeping the ball out of Vick/Maclin/Jackson/McCoy's hands. Hopefully that will set up some nice play action so we can take some shots in the passing game. Also, looking at games Philly has already played, TE's have had some success in the middle of the field against them (see Tony Gonzalez). I think Fred Davis could potentially have a very big game. Man, I'm sooooo pumped (and nervous) for this one. |
Re: Redemption Week!!
Good take by Dan Graziano of the ESPN NFC East blog re: importance of the game to the Redskins (can't post the link, not special enough yet).
Rak's quotes make the defensive gameplan sound a bit more conservative this week. I hope this is not the case. Please tell me I am paranoid or that I am over/misreading this. |
Re: Redemption Week!!
The middle is only a problem when they go to their 9 wide or whatever. When they close in I think they did pretty well against the Bills run game, but thats when we need to either run to the outside and force the Eagles to chase us or use more screens and slants. Force them to open up again.
