Giantone, I will give you credit for showing up and taking your medicine. Real fans do that. At least you didn't bail on the game early, like the 4 Giants fans I sat next to at Fedex yesterday who bailed when Sexy Rexy put the Skins up 14. Good game. Monkeydad, despite the stats you posted about ESPN's new TQBR, I feel like that's one stat where you can't just look at the numbers and conclusively determine one's impact on a game. That argument might actually work in your favor considering that's what it's supposed to do, but my point is, from the outside, it looks like McNabb had an atrocious game going 7/15 for 39 yards (and we used to think JC was Captain Checkdown lol), but if we paid attention to the game, we'd realize there was probably a good reason why his numbers were that bad. The Vikes led from the opening kickoff. McNabb's first pass was a great play by Shaun Phillips, and after the Chargers tied the game up McNabb put them up 17-7. So they had a 10 point lead, and really how much reason did they have to pass when they were up 17-7 and also had the best running back in the game? I'll be the first to admit I didn't watch the game, only saw the highlights on NFLN, but McNabb's stats look like a classic case of reading into the numbers too much. Who knows, maybe he tried to get the passing game going in the second half when the Chargers took the lead, but at the end of the day he didn't have a great game and both his TQBR and his normal qb rating reflected that. |
Re: Victory Monday
Besides winning, nothing beats the Cowboys choking.
Like a good Choke Artist, Tony Romo is there. |
You beat the team you are suppose to beat, and the Giants didn't,the Skins did simple as that .I said it before the Skins D has come together nicely. Facts are facts the Giants played with a depleted team yesterday not an excuse just a fact, alot of young back ups and rookies but still pros and in fact I was impressed by alot of the younger guys ....they didn't do bad. The lack of an off season has hurt Eli,the Giants O will come around but in my opinion in about 3 weeks.Oh and 1 more thing....serously the interception was more a Great play by Kerrigan(sp) then a bad play by Eli,had the tackle done his job the passing lane should have been open.Remember it's not where you start it's where you finish.
And the skins were playing pro bowlers? |

I thought the Skins have talent worthy of only 3-13 season on the roster. It's good to see Jacobs shit on his teammates by saying "look who we had out there." Hey Brandon, I saw them out there and they looked to me like NFL players who suited up. Shame they didn't have you out there much. Get better homie and maybe you can join your teammates out there more often. |
Re: Victory Monday
I know we ALL say things all the time about the Skins' but I swear to god this TEAM has a different feel ... Rex ... Beck ... it's just about the TEAM .... the defense has some serious swagger and is only going to get better ... back to being a top 10 defense will make things a lot better for our Offense .. not to mention we have a top 5 return man and a kicker that blasts them through the endzone everytime ... WR has great depth, Gaffney looks a lot bigger than I remember ? Moss looks like he's 25 ... Fred Davis is a beast and thank you very much for being my fantasy sleeper !!! Always loved Cooley but Davis is going to F some S up this year ... i'm rambling but damn ... HTTR .... take care of business this week

Re: Victory Monday
^ Ya know I almost said this last night but I didn't post it. No one outside of DC will give this team a chance. They will simply say that the Giants lost the game or gave it to us.
I used to get mad that the media would not give the Skins any props during preseason or leading up to this game. What did one media idiot say ... "the Skins suck like ice cubes" or something like that. But now... although rediculously unfair, I'll take everyone down playing our wins and expecting a Skins loss every weekend. That way the Skins can suprise a few people on Sun. hopefully.
I don't think anyone hasn't shown us respect for what we did yesterday outside of NY ,and you can't say by blaming Eli's crappy performance, they are necessarily dissing us either. Foxsports, etc gave us props for what we did. My co workers were impressed and they are Lions fans. I mean we did play very solid football, but you have to admit in doing so, Eli sucked balls. A guy like Eli should be able to play with the big boys, and he didn't really play well at all. Rex outplayed him!!!!!!!!! |

We got a decent amount of respect from ESPN today. I didn't have to work today, so I was all over sports talk radio and ESPN during the day. Heck, NFL Live gave Kerrigan the defensive play of the day. |
Re: Victory Monday
There's an atmosphere surrounding this team unlike anything I've seen in recent years. Everybody seems to be buying-in.
