Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
It's not always a bad idea to pick the inferior team to win a specific ball game, but as far as I can tell, the whole argument for the Lions winning this game is:
1) The Lions have to win sometime and 2) There's a lot of pressure on the Redskins And, um, those are both horrible reasons to pick the Lions. Dan LeBatard made the best argument yesterday on PTI when he said that bad teams beat less bad teams all the time. But if that's the best your going to do when picking the Lions to win, might as well admit that you are picking with your heart. |
Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
If we play flat in this game something is wrong.
I would really like for us to open a Costco sized can on the Lions. We could all use a "rainbows and unicorns" type of week around here. |
Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
Skins 41
Lions 13 Mark it down :) |

In many respects we went off on the Rams. The defense only had two bad plays the whole game, and forced two (one that counted) turnover(s). Marc Bulger never got his feet set all game. Stephen Jackson was held mostly in check. Donnie Avery, their stud WR in development, was a complete non-factor. Randy McMichael did more in that game. And Jason Campbell torched the Rams secondary on third down all day long. He was probably one big play away from putting the entire league on notice. And, we spent the whole week focusing on the 9 red zone plays that prevented us from getting a touchdown. 67 offensive plays, and we chose to focus on the 9 or 10 that prevented us from getting TDs. All because we're trying to find an answer to the question, "what's wrong with the (1-1) Redskins?" and "Why can't we get into the end zone against the Rams? It's the Rams for crying out loud!" We will win this week, but some things will go wrong. And there probably will not be a 40 point explosion. We might get 30, maybe. If we commit no turnovers, we probably score on 6 drives. We will probably score between 24 and 30 points. And for those who want to focus on what is still ailing the Redskins offense that we can't score 40 points against the worst defense ever, well, there will probably be mistakes made in a 60 minute game. But we will be 2-1, and I feel that this win will be particularly convincing. |

Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
We should tear this team apart. This team needs to relax and just play hard football.
I dont see how the Lions can hold us out of the endzone. All of our Offensive Players are way overdue. Skins 24 Lions 14 SELLERS JUST BETTER NOT DROP ONE BALL. lol |

http://www.detroitlionsforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13
the cowboys site actually closed their political forum around the time Matty suggested doing the same for political threads. forum/no forum if people can't be respectful, it's eventually gonna get shut down. As for Detroit fans, how hopeless would that be, after us their next opponents are: @Chicago Pittsburgh @Green Bay There is a reason why they are hoping to beat us this week, and it has very little to do with our team. |
Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
I liked the guy who predicted it would be a 4 - 4 tie game. lol.
They (lions forum guys) are worried that too many people are picking them to upset the Skins and, b/c of that, the Skins won't take them lightly enough. Quite frankly, given the sh** they have been taking all week, I can't imagine any Skin taking this lightly. |

Nobody wants to lose to an 0-19 team, simple as that. I'm sure they would love to knock the snot out of the Lions to prove all the doubters wrong. |
Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
So who matches up on C. Johnson - Rogers or Hall? Did someone match up all game with him last time or did they play whoever they lined up against?
In light of all their (the Lions) other problems, I think Blache should tell his two safeties: "Landry, you go where ever Johnson goes - you don't play the run, you dont cover the seam. I don't care if he already has two guys covering him, you keep Johnson in front of you at all times - he gets behind you I will personally kick your butt all week long. ... Horton, you go where K. Smith goes you don't play the pass, you dont cover the seam - you hit Smith every time he touches the ball or I will hit you all week long. The other 10 guys will worry about the rest of the field - you two guys take those two guys out of the game." |
Re: Time to move the F on, let's talk about the Lions
^^^ yeah i could see the lions getting some positive plays from kevin smith coming out of the back field against our linebackers not named london baker-fletcher. that and d hall giving up another long td pass to calvin.
