Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Don't care, and for explanation see A. Perterson. The game is about breaking a big run and he did. I would take my chances with CP thank you. Running the ball even for 2/3 yards gets the defense more tired and in the long run it pays off. Zorn got out-coached plain and simple.
Obviously the game is really about taking knees. The team that takes the most knees wins like 98% of the time.
People are wasting time talking about JC, the real concern is that the OL is still not able to handle a top flight D.
Exactly, that and the playcalling is pathetic. When we were pinned deep, 3 straight runs, what a joke! Zorn is the problem....we got outcoached! |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
We stopped running the ball? Really?
When Clinton Portis got his 16th carry, Campbell had 18 pass attempts. Exactly what are you supposed to do when he's plunging into the line for a yard per play? We put the ball in Campbell's hands, and scored rather easily. They were very understaffed in the secondary.
Yeah, they were playing soft because the game by that time was won. You need to pound the ball with CP early and often and get Betts off the field. |

Pounding Portis = wasting plays. Some defenses let you have your way with 7 in the box. The Giants only used 7 in the box, but they won the one on ones all day. |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
Is it time to start worry about the Oline yet? Actually handling a top 3 pass rushing D-Line I think we did ok, look at JC stats, great completion % and all that good stuff. I was disappointed when we did run the ball we went nowhere. Then that leads to me to the point, why did we keep running the ball especially in the second half? Zorn play calling was horrible, I mean really disturbing. Call shotgun and get the ball downfield and need some more mis direction plays to cool that rush, screens, counters, etc.
Like you, the one area of Zorn's coaching that is sometimes baffling to me is his play calling. Today I think he stuck with the run too much, and for too long, espically when we were down by two scores in the second half. The Giants loved it because we were using clock, but not scoring any points. |

Except for the mercy TD late, the passing game did not get it done. We have some work to do to say the least. I think the best thing to come of it is the realization that we do not need a tremendous Offensive showing to be in these games. Our D had us in it. They allowed 17? against one of the best teams in the league and probably the BEST O-line. That could have been......MUCH worse.....HTTR |

What game were you watching, CP couldnt do squat outside of the first run. I can help but think that has something to do with him not playing in the preseason....and our O-line is pathetic. |

If only that worked in the first 3qts of the game. |

I was watching the game and to me it seemed like CP didn't get many touches. He broke a big one, no reason to believe he can't do it again. Skins abandoned the run. They certainly didn't. |

How does his knee taking compare to that of the Giants running game? |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
How does his knee taking compare to that of Giants running game?
Favorably to Jacobs, unfavorably to Bradshaw.
In all honesty the Giants probably should have taken advantage of our shitty secondary more than they did as well. Jacobs didn't need 16 carries, but you know what, they made an adjustment and went to Bradshaw and then could run the ball. I'm not saying that going to Betts was any answer, but an adjustment was needed. |

Dude your tripping, all CP all the time!!! Anyone got the stats how many carries he had in the first half, and subtract the 1st carry, it isnt gonna be pretty. I dont think its all his fault, the O-line was pathetic, but he had his chances thats for sure! And once your losing by multiple scores you gotta start throwing the ball!!! |
Re: can WE now start a countdown to a new coach and qb
From My perspective (Reed Doughty).
Same bullshit, another year. No ice, no chaser, strait up corn liquor. Damn it burns doesn't it? There's no need to analyze anything. Santana Moss needs to be benched or traded. Eff Moss. I'm not the one to bash JC, but if he can't lead this team to victory over the G-men then eff him too. He chickened out with that run play when we needed that first down and his game management stinks. Collins can beat them, so could Ramsey. I (Reed Doughty) have a high motor, but I, nor can the rest of the defense play for 7/8ths of a game. The defense is going to be drinking warm beer tonight on the way back home. At least it's beer. We threw a humble pie on the floor of the offense's bus. Let them do an interview about that! My agent tells me that after my one year contract is up, I stand a chance of going to a good team, like Baltimore. Coffee is for closers byatches! |
