re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
I hope it doesn't involve giving him very much money.
I can live with picking him up on a cheap one year deal. Let him come in and prove himself on the field and in the locker room. I have serious doubts as to whether he pull it off, but if he proves me wrong I'll gladly eat that crow.
I cannot speak for him, but I have a feeling that he wants to be here. On a side note, I am not trying to bring up old stuff, but I was against bringing Jason Taylor here. Up to this point it seems as if my gut feeling on JT was correct. Well, my gut feels good about the possibility of bringing in Hall. I agree that we shouldn't dump Snyders estate on him, but I feel that bringing him for a season or 2 to prove himself is a good idea. I am not a psychic, but I can see this working out well for both sides. |

If we sign him, who is getting cut?
Probably Kelly to IR |
re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
I don't see what the true harm is, other than this and Alexander lends to the perception of "here we go again" with other teams' cast-offs. Though, to be fair, both are relatively low risk moves.
Also, and it may have been mentioned in this thread already, he might step in right away as an improvement over ARE on punt returns |
re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
We neeed corner help for Roy Williams. If he acts up cut him. Springs stay hurt too much we need a big time corner.

re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
I think the most benefit has got to be punt returns. We all know that any option there would be welcome.

If we can sign Hall through next season on the cheap, he would be on his best behavior to score a big contract in 2010.
Also, I don't know if this was mentioned yet, but HE WAS CUT BY THE RAIDERS. THERE ARE PLAYERS ON THE RAIDERS WHO WOULD NOT HAVE STARTED ON MY HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.
You mean like Randy Moss? |

You make it sound like the Oakland Raiders have a clue what they're doing. |
re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
some of ya are crazy DH is hot head yeah but when we have a team thats no one man takes away from the team. when u bring a player in to that environment its going to rub off. So we can really use a player like DH.

 I hope Jerry Jones is taking lessons from Al Davis |
re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
- if he screws up we can cut him, very low risk
- we have the locker room, organization and tradition that wont allow hall to get out of line - he knows he will have to be on his best behavior b/c blache will not take any of his "me" crap - he will help on ST returns - we need him to solidify our no. 2 corner b/c of all the teams with 2 good receivers - he has motivation to play and behave well so he can get a fat pay check next year these sound like all the reasons the boys signed pacman, ones a hot head off the field the others a hot head on the field . . . . i wasnt one to bash the boys for pacman and hall is not nearly the potential trouble of pacman but talent does put blinders on when your talking about bringing that player to your team as opposed to your rivals . . . |
Re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
I hope this isn't true. Hall is simply one of the worst guys in the NFL. WHY?????????????

Re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
I am for it. I think with the troubles he has had in Atlanta and Oakland are directly related to the frachises. Look at those two, they have been losing frachises for the last few years, and its only getting worse. Look what people said about Randy Moss in Oakland, and look what happened when he went to a team with great leadership and more importantly, winning on the field. The kid is only 24, has a ton of talent not only at CB, but at returning punts (my thought on that also is Randel El wont be back next year) I think with the character we have on this team, in the locker room will get this kid pointed in the right direction. Springs, Smoot, Landry, Carlos are all extremely hard workers during practice, work outs, and are all great character guys. With London, Jason Taylor, Griffin, Marcus Washington, I really think this is something that we HAVE to explore and if possible sign him for the rest of the year or a relatively cheap two year deal.
IF anything, keep him from the Cowboys or Giants who are also interested in signing him. |
Re: Comcast: Redskins contact DeAngelo Hall, may have deal within 24 hours
and one more thing. Springs (as good as he is) is getting older. Signing him would solidify a really talented corner tandem in Rogers and Hall. Plus, if springs doesn't redo his contract he may be gone anyway. I dont think we are going to pay him upwards of 6+ million next year.
