I Can't believe fans on twitter are so mad at the name LOL, Like its so weird to me so many have a weird connection with a Wolf.. I love Wolves too but I'm not going apeshit because the team didn't choose "Redwolves"

I actually thought Commanders was a misdirection and the name would end up being RedWolves. But as Sheehan said the other day "this team specializes in botch jobs, not clever ruses".

I'm not a big fan but I'll get used to it. Just glad it's over.

What bothers me most is the logo with 1983, 1988, 1992. How dumb can you be?

As for the target demographic, my 13-year-old stepson hates the name but likes the uniforms so there's that.

After taking a nice nap, and having some time to process all of it a little bit more here are my thoughts:

[LIST][*]I do not love, or at the moment, even like the name. I'll get used to it though and I think it's totally fine and might even be a cool imposing name if we actually start to win something.

[*]I'm glad Jason said something about this 'just being the launch.' As insane as it is considering they had a good chunk of time to iron out all the details, there is so much about this that feels unfinished. The logo needs to evolve rather quickly IMO, and the crest is actually pretty cool and would be a decent primary logo on its own. The potential for a mascot of sorts is also pretty cool, and the possibility that the existing fight song can probably incorporate Commanders and live on is cool.

[*]The jerseys are the biggest letdown for me. The Burgundy could have looked really, really classy but that giant 'Commanders' above the number is jarring and cheapens the whole look. Especially when you consider how nice the burgundy helmets look, it's really a damn shame. The white jerseys look like they belong to a different team. The lack of gold accents and not using the same shade of burgundy as the home jerseys is such a shame. I'm not a fan of an all-black uniform but I guess they're fine... until you look at that ridiculous W on the front of the helmet black helmet.[/LIST]

Don't care for the name but I suppose it could have been worse. I am not going to jump ship. Home Uniform looks good, all black not so much, maybe incorporate burgundy & gold into it, away uniforms make the red burgundy. I am sure they will make tweaks to it. I wanted Redwolves/Wolves. Was okay with Redhogs/Warthogs/Hogs - would have been a good tie in to the old O-Line, Sentinals or keep it Football Team

Don't know why I didn't think of it before, but they should have named themselves with a logo like "Prince" did. Then they couldn't say we had a racist name but they would have to call us "the football team formerly known as the Redskins." (I also liked the fact that when they blocked a video this year the message said it had been blocked by the "Washington Redskins".)

(I also thought we should call ourselves the "Cannibals" since Bezos is the one who forced the issue.) (j/k)

I feel like logo could have been more than a W. Maybe it's because it just sounds like a name for a team in a movie right now. Maybe it will grow on me, maybe it won't either way no point in fighting it.

I just look back at teams that recently had name changes Titans always sounded cool to me, even Texans sounded normal the first time I heard it. Idk why I just hear "Commanders" and my brain is like "Wow that is shit" I'll just keep repeating it to myself over and over so I get used to it. Yeah wins fix everything. Sidenote I always liked the name "Wizards"

At least we can say Tom Brady never beat the Commanders

One thing I hadn't really thought about, and I didn't really understand why having an easy way to shorten the name was important... Is what do you chant in the stadium... Or even at a bar... Like every 2 syllables team can say "let's go one-two" the way we used to say "let's go Redskins"... Most one syllable short nick name say "Go one go", or even just "let's go ooone"... Just trying to find a way to shout or chant something that rolls off the tong with Commanders...

My #1 question to Wright is "Why did you think doing this on the Today show was a good idea?"

I cant for the life of me understand how any marketing person would think turning the reveal over to a network tv show that you cant control is a good idea. The intro that focused on the racist name and scandals killed the thing before it started. Plus it had to fit into the length of a Today show segment. I wonder if that's why Wright looked so shell shocked when they went to him for the name reveal. This was doomed before it started by putting it on the Today show.
