You ever here those playcalls? Those things aren't easy to read. They're not structured like actual sentences. It's repetition and memory saying them out loud. It's almost like muscle memory for certain skills and exercises.

Def not easy to call out plays and memorize them
I am in favor of drafting CY.

Now if RR and company think Tau is the best fit so be it. IMO if you think last years draft pick of DH was a mistake just fix it and draft Tau don't keep kicking the mistake can down the road for the next few years at the most important position on the field.

You don't want a Mitch T situation where Chicago keeps trying to make it work to justify their draft/trade of him
They just can't take the risk of drafting Tua. If he didn't have all the injuries then I'd say draft him. But that isn't the case. He hasn't shown the ability to stay healthy.

Tua is bad for 2 reasons

1. We already have a young talented QB
2. Chase Young is better than Tua

If you don't like No. 1 you still have No. 2.

I kinda hope the Bengals end up taking Chase #1, can you imagine the picks we would get for Burrow?? I know that isn't happening but would be fun.

Tua is better than Chase if you are looking at a QB Wins standpoint, overall I agree that Chase is the better pick for us.

If I was the Bengals I would draft Chase Young.

The only way I'd OK with not getting him is if Cincy does. Can't help that. Then I'd definitely trade down with the highest bidder.

I'm ready for some actual transactions. Only 9 days till FA. C'mon Hooper!!

We don't know what RR is thinking. He didn't draft Haskins and may not think much of him. He may be talking him up just to trade him. Who knows...

Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period

The NFLPA and the NFL Management Council have agreed to push the deadline for franchise/transition tagging players to Monday morning at 11:59am Eastern.

If the new CBA passes on Saturday night, teams will have one tag available to them, their choice of the franchise tag or transition tag. If the CBA does not pass on Saturday night, teams will have both tags available to them to use.

So the new cutoff point for the Brandon Scherff negotiations will be Monday morning, at which time the Skins will almost certainly apply the franchise tag if by that point they've not reached a long term deal with him.

The legal tampering period will then begin one minute later, at 12 noon on Monday.

Best news I’ve heard all off season. Go Jets! When the Cowboys don’t resign Byron Jones bc they are so tied up with Dak and Amari, we can snag him and I’d be pleased as punch with that.

Cincy is drafting Burrows because they need a QB and he had a fantastic year. In an alternate universe if the Bengals draft Chase then we’ll get a mega-deal trade from Miami. Just not going to really happen except in some people’s dreams.

The Redskin’s interest in Tua is a smokescreen to generate trade offers for our #2 pick. Unfortunately, no one in the NFL believes the Tua idea because Rivera, Del Rio and Snyder are absolutely drooling for Chase Young. But it’s good for pre-FA news fodder when there’s nothing else to write about.

Our big FA move is going to be Hooper. We absolutely need him because otherwise we have to hope to draft a TE with a third round pick or worse, in a small TE draft pool.

The next moves will be to sign Flowers and signing Scherff or franchising him.

I think Cooper would be great but he’s too expensive with all our other needs. We need a good to excellent LB,CB, FS in FA and maybe a one year WR and a carry over OT also. We might even wing it with just drafting a WR ( no WR FA) and hope to get a starter from several draft/UDFA WR and Harmon.

I think the Bengal's executives are in an alternate universe, so who knows what they'll do? We've all seen some crazy draft day moves before.

Also, if Burrow were to fall to us, then I think we would be foolish not to take him if our staff believes that he could become an All-Pro QB. I like a lot of things about Haskins but I don't see how anybody could have already reached the conclusion that he should be anointed the Future of the Franchise.

Do I expect these things to happen? Of course not. I'm just saying that big draft day surprises sometimes do happen.

Burrow is a southern Ohio boy. Even Bengals management can figure out the fan blow back they will get if they don't choose one of their own with the first pick.

Didnt Burrows already pledge money to the Ohio food banks or something along those lines? Burrows to Ohio is even a bigger lock than Chase to the Skins.

Personally I can’t wait to see Chase wearing the burgundy and gold. He’s going to scare QB, especially after he gets a few sacks and then Sweat improves on the other side.

Just as important as striking fear into opposing QBs, he will rent space in the brains of offensive coordinators. They'll have to plan around him from Week 1. Having a guy that can actually impact the offense's game plan is something we haven't had since Sean Taylor.

I cant wait to see Jack Del Rio walking the sideline.

F8ck man, how long has it been since we had an actual D-Coordinator on the team?

1993 Richie Petitbon
W-L record:164-108
Playoff Record: 16-5

But Gregg Williams defense ranked third in the NFL in 2004 and ninth in 2005. Not bad

We're going to have competition. You can expect the Pats to be heavily in pursuit of a TE. It's good to be Hooper right about now. He's going to get overpaid.

MTK 03-12-2020 11:23 AM

Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period

The nature of free agency is you pay a premium for the top guys. In two years Hooper's deal will look much different. The guy is 25, durable, and productive. I'd make a hard push for him. The next 5 years are his prime years.

Re: 3/18 @4pm NFL Free Agency & Trading Period

Im getting the feeling the cap is going to go up exponentially (and keep going up) and we, mentally, are still thinking 2018 price values when its a new age.

Perhaps 35M for a top tier QB is normal, 20M for top tier LT, 20M for top tier CB ... I mean, top tier Gs are getting 15M .. Hooper, who isnt a top tier TE but is young and hitting the market at the right time, may get 13 to even 15M.

I think what ever you think is the going market rate, add 20% to it bc thats what agents are thinking.

Hell .. we have like 60 plus M in cap space and could have over 80 if we unload TW and RK. Some teams have an insane amount of unspent cap.

Exactly. Pay the man. We need a 3 down TE. Have needed one for years. He is in his prime and the cap is going up. Pay that man!!!

I'd go for this but I'd be surprised if the Titans just let him walk, unless they can't sign Henry and probably Tannehil, needing the tags. He's not TW but he's good and in his prime.

Chargers TE Henry is tagged, as expected. I kinda liked Henry slightly more than Hooper.

Why? I thought I read somewhere that the Redskins have a lot more cap room for free agency than either Green Bay or Chicago.
