He only has 1 year left on his deal and he isn't starting there next year. Probably could get him for like a 4th. You can always trade down with one of your other picks to recoup any lost ones.

If you want to look at someone just reporting, look at Keim. Reid doesn't just report IMO.

Honestly, I'm getting over last night. NFL season has been so up and down, very few teams (except the Iggles apparently) seem to be consistent from week to week.

Plenty of other shit shows (Browns, Giants, Colts) going on in the league.

Sadly, i think he's done here in his own mind. Can't fault him. I think he could succeed with the right team around him. This year? We don't have the right team around him. 7-9 or 8-8 is the outcome i feel of this year through 6 games, my hopes was 10-6 but my reality guess was 7-9 or 8-8 so ... whie im dissapointed, im not surprised really. Kirk is a good qb, but the more i go through with this with him... I JUST DONT SEE THE PLAYMAKER ABILITY THAT THIS TEAM NEEDS TO WIN... he's a good qb, and maybe he gets better, i just dont think he gets over that hill with this franchise sadly. Good dude, class act, good qb with potential, but i think yes, he's done here after this year.

Kirk will be a solid, competent QB for someone. He doesn't warrant being the highest paid player in the league, but Bruce botched this two years ago, when he could have signed him long term for $20M per year/$60M guaranteed. That would be such a bargain today. Now it will probably take $28M per year/$100M guaranteed. Thanks, Bruce.

He's not the Rodgers / Brady type of QB who elevates the play of those around him. But Super Bowls have been won by worse quarterbacks because they had a complete team around them.

The thing we have to ask ourselves, in the salary cap era, how hard is it to put together that complete team around Cousins if Cousins is being paid top dollar? It's a shitty decision to have to make - I think the answer is doing that is extremely hard. It's also extremely hard to find a new QB who can do what Cousins can do, let alone who can do what Rodgers or Brady can do.

Compounding it all is the obstacle we face in our own division - Dak and Wentz are on their rookie deals yet already are among the top 10 in the league. It's a tough position and I'm afraid there's no good answer besides getting very lucky in the draft - either draft the next big QB or keep Cousins and hit on a whole bunch of middle rounders who turn to be stars.

The reason above by S10 is why I don't really believe DS and BA are really the bad guys here. I don't blame them for asking KC to prove it each year. You can pay Brady/ Aaron that kind of money and have lesser talent else where and the dealt is covered but with KC he alone can't win you games with just his share talent. What drives the price up on KC is the lack of talent at his level plus the drop off of talent below him. Its a real tough situation. I think if you look at the Ravens right now they are a in a bit of a pickle they are in is because of Flacco's contract and his current ability to produce.

I almost think because how specialized the QB position is that the NFL should have a separate salary cap for the position that doesn't effect the rest of your teams salary cap.

In the end the real issue is just the share lack of quality QBing at the NFL level and it becomes a simple economic equation of supply and demand that sets their salary.

I get the exhaustion over the subject. But if you're the team's front office it needs to be thought about constantly. What to do at QB is the most impactful decision they have to make - it influences the entire approach for the next 5-10 years.

I honestly understand the argument to go in either direction - pay him top dollar or let him go. It's a challenge no matter which direction you choose.

It'd be easy if he was Carson Wentz. He's not.

The glory day teams, and I loved watching them like everyone in the city did, were built without free agency, salary caps, and without the immense media scrutiny of modern day.

Do you think the hogs or fun bunch would have stuck together through all those seasons? I'm very confident that they would NOT have and that we would have lost players after each of our superbowls. Even coaches are more fluid these days (that's my opinion not something I can cite statistics on).

Being a fan of the team is just that you ride the emotional ups and downs, and everyone has their favorite rants and raves -- BUT!!! -- in the end if you are a fan of the team, you ought to be able to say "this is my team, it has warts (or big ole stink bombs if you are a Snyder hater) and I want them to win. GO SKINS". If not, why be a fan? Why invest even the 48 hours of game time to sit and just to have something to hate on or moan and groan about? I don't get it.

I think if you look up here in Baltimore you can see the ramifications of that. Flacco put together a helluva playoff run in 2012 and received top dollar despite people knowing he is not an elite level QB, since then they have struggled to put together a quality product. There are other variables there for sure and for what it is worth I think Cousins is better than Flacco, and I think you pay Cousins and see what you can do.

What’s the expression? Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face. I hate DS too because he has turned a very proud franchise into a mediocre one. He has made us a laughingstock more than once. In short, he has ruined football for me. I get it. However if the Redskins winning makes him happy than so be it. Im a Skins fan. I was long before he came into the picture.

I heard that segment and I happened to think it was spot on. It's a great assessment of Cousins. He's a very good QB, but he cannot carry a team like some other QBs can.

I'd rather have Cousins over Flacco anyday. The Ravens have lost games this season due to Flacco. I would not be surprised if he's cut this off-season if his play doesn't pick up. That or they draft a QB and then cut him the following season.

My post was totally taken out of context..what i was trying to say was I pull for this team to win every game However once the game is over The ONLY positive thing that can come out of this is hopefully you LEARN BY YOUR MISTAKES ..Snyder hates losing so you would think at some point the light would come on and he would say to himself maybe the problem is me! so when i said i enjoy the team losing its because the game is already over and maybe Snyder will change. Flacco's contract has certainly played a role in them bringing in other talent, coupled with the fact he doesn't perform to the level of his contract. Go back to the S10 post in here; I commented on it. Its the whole talent vs production; if you have only so much gold in a pot and you need to spread it around to build a team you better make sure the ones taking the most gold live up to their potential because you are probably paying peanuts to another position of need. A prime example even for us is DJAX and PG, I bet a million some the reason we let them go was to free up money for KC.

That article mentions nothing about his contract being a factor. His play has fallen off, the front office has failed to support him, and this year in particular they’ve been hit hard with injuries.
