What are your thoughts on Slowick?
He was with us on the defensive side, and move to O with SF. Too early to judge his offensive work, he replaced McDaniel. Gruden had McVay, O’Connell as assistants that have moved to very successful coaching roles. Gruden is proven OC, rather go with him. |

I really can’t see Gruden coming back. Do HC’s that get fired go back to the same teams as Coordinators ever? Just seems awkward. He is a passing specialist now. He is doing wonders with Mr Irrelevant. Has gotten to learn from a great HC, offense, and organization. He is young and hungry. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
No one from Kyle's staff is coming here. It's going to be really hard to get any top guy to come run the offense. You don't have an established QB first off. Second you already have Ron saying we have to run the ball - so you're going to have this fossil thinking coach leaning over you if you throw 2 passes in a row. Then you most likely have a lame duck HC and a new owner. Just not a recipe for any OC trying to make their way.

Our 2 choices are likely an old retread that can't say no or a younger surprise candidate that bumps over a stepping stone to take the job. Give me the younger guy with a smile on my face. |

It'll probably be Zampese. That's my guess. They're probably not going to change the offense around and change the terminology. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
Well, I got 1/3rd of my wish. Now if Rivera and his lame defensive coordinator go, I get all of my wish.
Rivera had arguably the best quarterback in the league and only had two seasons where his team won more than they lost. |

That’s my guess too, plus he has the last name. He’ll pick someone loyal to him, a yes man. |

I really really hope you're wrong. |

You should know Rivera by now, he likes to play it safe and work with people he trusts. Don’t see him being adventurous. |

He shocked me already by firing Turner. So I'm gonna hold out hope for a surprise/exciting candidate. |

He is from the East Coast. He might believe in Howell. Hell he is doing it with Brock Purdy now. We certainly have weapons. He is always going to be in Shanahans shadow there when people think about the offense. Can be the top dog here for the offense. |
Re: Scott Turner Fired
Slowik is intriguing, but he has no ties to RR that I can tell, so I'm not sure he's on the short list. Could be good though if he'd even be interested.
RR better hire someone who can get this offense rolling though, or he's sure to be gone by mid-season. |

Re: Scott Turner Fired
As far as the running game is concerned, going with Howell as the starter could add as many as 500 yards on designed runs and scrambles.

Re: Scott Turner Fired
Good riddance IMO.
I get the feeling next season will be weird anyway, depending on the timing of the sale: does it happen before the draft, after the draft, or next offseason all together ? Anyway Ron will still probably be there so it still won't be the fresh start we're yearning for. Also, with how many of us bitched about Turner not running the ball enough, I don't understand the fuss over Ron's comments. Howell has one good game and suddenly we want to be Kansas City's offense ? |
