George was a flat out dick. At least McNabb was somewhat liked by teammates. Remember the quote by George? "That leadership stuff is overrated!" lol. |
Re: Least Favorite Player at Each Position During Snyder Era
I figure I'll toss mine in:
QB: Danny Wuerffel (George and Brunell are distance 2nd and 3rd) HB: Ladell Betts WR: Jacquez Green OL: Levi Jones DL: Haynesworth LB: Warrick Holdman CB: Carlos Rogers SS: Ifeanyi Ohalete FS: Matt Bowen P: Durant Brooks K: Gano |

The fact that we brought that bum in and totally dicked over Brad Johnson will always burn me. Perfect example of what was wrong with the Snyder/Vinny era. |

Wasn't George the QB one of the Cowgirls dragged by the collar after sacking him and our O-Line just stood there and watched it? Nobody liked that prick. |

Yup, Ekuban I think it was |
Re: Least Favorite Player at Each Position During Snyder Era
Brandon Banks. If youre going to devote a roster spot to a return specialist, he atleast needs to be good. Banks has zero value on offense and negligbile value on special teams. every year i hope its the year the coaches finally decide hes not worth keeping... and ever year thecoaches keep him anyway. why?

Well, I mean what else could we use that roster spot for? If you're not going to provide a solution you can't point out the problem :) |
Re: Least Favorite Player at Each Position During Snyder Era
I would say about Jeff George though, that I didn't ever really feel he was a bad person in my interactions with him. He was quiet and a bit of a loner, but not an a-hole by any means.
Actually in retrospect not bidding for Pierce worked out perfectly. Fletcher is still playing at a high level and Pierce is working in the studio despite being 3 years younger.
True, Pierce wouldn't have helped us now, but whoever would be depth between Pierce, MacIntosh, or Washington would have been nice. Assuming we still draft Rocky with a 2nd rd pick in '06.

Bad combo for a QB. I don't know that he was an a-hole, but he certainly didn't garner much respect from his teammates wherever he played. |
Pierce partly because he trashed the organization after the Giants just outbid us. (We should have outbid the giants, but that's another issue). And partly just because he was a another chippy Giants player.
Lavar seemed happy going to Pro Bowls while the team stunk. But when Gibbs and Williams started coaching against freelancing and preferential treatment on the sidelines, suddenly Arrington wasn't happy. And our defense was better without him. Add Lavar's trash-talking the coaches right before the playoffs in '05, and calling Gibbs a coward for leaving the team himself in '07 (in circumstances a lot different than L. "playbook" Arrington did)......
Im holding personality out of this and based my list on what they did or did not do for the team. Haynesworth would ofcourse encompass all of that. Pierce - arrington - portis - guys like that may have rubbed some the wrong way but there are countless others at those positions that fit the bill better imo. I remember them taking Lavar out on third down plays all the time that last year he was here. almost seemed out of spite - power trip - to me? |

We had a top 5 defense in '05 without Lavar, too. His knee injury was a legitimate issue, but Lavar trashed the coaches first for holding him out, then trashed them for putting him back in too early. Add his wanting to freelance in William's gap defense, how could you work with that guy? The Giants spent big money on him, and got practically nothing from him. Except a copy of our playbook. |

The whole Snyder/Cerrato/Turner/Johnson/George ordeal was one of the worst things I've seen. It was like a soap opera. And honestly the one person who acted the most "mature" about it at all from my perspective was George |
