Philip Daniels is on record saying he received $1,500 for a game vs Dallas in 2005 and some bonuses were up to $8,000. Only player I can possibly imagine getting that kind of money would be Sean Taylor.
They should fire his ass. His big mouth might cost us RG3. |

Good thing you're not the type to overreact. In cases like this, especially 5 years removed, they may dock us a 6th round pick, nothing higher than a 5th. Probably a $50,000-$150,000 fine if anything. |

Well I think you might be suprised. It still may cast enough doubt that the Rams say we cant risk trading with you. |
Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
They were talking about this on SiriusXM NFL Radio this afternoon. They interviewed several former players who basically admitted that this is a wide-spread thing across the league and has been for a long time. However, the difference is it is usually done as a player-only funded and involved thing as a motivator in games. Not with the purpose of putting someone on a stretcher, end their career, etc. But to make a good, legal hit. A lot of it directed toward special teams play in particular. I can see something like this going on all the time in the league. The way it sounded like Gregg Williams ran it, however, seems like a different case. This definitely puts a twist on things. I hope he doesn't drag down the Skins organization with him.
Explain to me how the Saints get nailed and no one is saying anything about Gregg getting penalized now? Or could he be suspended while with the Rams? It always rubbed me the wrong way that Pete Carroll never got any penalties for what happened at USC. Sweatervest Boy at Ohio State got penalized before he could do anything with the Colts. |
Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
From what I understand the NFL investigation was only about the Saints, not the Redskins
There were a lot of things Williams kept from Gibbs, which was one reason Snyder was always kind of suspicious of him. I'm guessing this was one if them
On the other hand, Gibbs had to have some idea of Williams' way since he was essentially a Buddy Ryan clone, one of the few people Gibbs legitimately could not stand
That's too bad, ironically, GW was about the main reason Gibbs won 10 games twice. Maybe Gibbs should have paid our players for TD's those years. I kid... |

It will be real disappointing if it should result in punitive action against the team...... Never did like GW....Good D coach though. |

So is there like a statue of limitations on certain crimes? Lol |

That's strange, but also fine with me. |

Lotus Re: New Orleans Saints: Bounty Hunters The Saints should be punished by having to trade Breesus for John Beck. what are you talking about. Drew Brees is too short, and he only ran a 4.7 at his combine. Are you crazy!!!???????
And he was a 2nd rounder. Everyone knows good QBs can only be had with the first or second picks. |

32nd overall though. |

Then please tell Phil Daniels to shut up. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5UG7ISJfP0[/ame] |
Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
Just read across the ESPN news crawl that the bounty hunting has been confirmed with the Redskins from 2004-2007. This is all we need right now. Bet Danny is livid. Probably need to distance ourselves from this crap, this is all we need right now....plus Williams has issued a statement and apology for doing it and continuing to do it after he was told to stop....god damn it...
|
Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
So if I'm understanding this right is the reason the Saints are in trouble due to the fact that they were caught back in 2009, asked to stop, then continued doing it?

Re: New Orleans Saints/Washington Redskins: Bounty Hunters
well then what about the Bills, Titans and Jaguars when he was with them? im sure it happend then also...
I don't think anything should or will happen to either of those teams or us. |
