Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
The three special teamers/olinemen or whatever other shots in the dark we draft from these players' respective trades don't need to contribute much to make more contributions than McNabb and Haynesworth. Just enough to beat out a half-season of almost nothing and another few weeks of bad QB play.
That's great, but it doesn't make up for the $41 million in guarantees and the 2nd rounder that were wasted in these two guys. Unless we get a solid starter out of these three low draft picks, we haven't won anything. Even if that happens, we still have a wasted year where the team could have been rebuilding. |

Those are transactions that need be evaluated own their own terms. I get that you're talking about the whole sum of their contributions. But I'm talking about just the trades itself. It won't take much to win the trades in which we got the low round picks. It'll take more to make up for the total losses. |

I see what you are saying, it's just that I hate that in all this talk the fact that the team committed a big mistake with these guys gets lost. For instance, I hate when fans/analysts/talking heads say: "The benching of McNabb proves that Mike Shanahan was correct". Now this is true, it proves that Mike Shanahan was correct at the end of a wasted season last year. But it also proves that Mike Shanahan was dead wrong when he decided to spend picks on McNabb. |

The man just oozes talent and some of the stuff he shows could do was pretty damn good. That's why even no-nonsense guy like Belichick took a flyer on him (for cheap, but still) instead of passing on him altogether. That's why MS set his price for AH so high(if true) during the offseason where he supposedly could have gotten a 3rd rounder from the Titans for AH, I think. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
NOT SHOCKED... what bothers me is that he made off with a total of around 63 million dollars in 2 seasons w/ us.

But trading for DMac and not trading AH earlier were big losses for us which were not balanced out by later trades. These personnel moves are black marks on the Shanallen resume. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
I love it!!!!!!!!!!! This made me smile after a long day at work.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Do you think Haynesworth will sign on with another club or is the baggage following him around going to cost him his career, a-la Portis and T.O.

He'll be broke in 5 years. Watch. |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
I'm loving the fact that this has happened, even Haynesworth acknowledged that this would be his last stop if he messed up. Congrats, it may be your last stop.
If anyone gets him, its Eagles, Lions, or Seattle. |

More of a Darkhorse, They need someone next to Mebane, and they had interest in him when we had him a while back. |

Well, he's on waivers now. If nobody claims him... |
Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
Haynesworth is a lazy player. He's a huge waste of enormous talent. If he had the right attitude, he would be great. If I were a GM, I wouldn't sign him based on his past actions. It's just a bad sign that he could do the same thing if he signed with my team. Haynesworth is a joke. He's the biggest comic relief joke in pro football.

Re: Patriots Waive Haynesworth
The reason he got whacked in NE is cause he got into a heated argument with coach Pepper Johnson after the loss to the G-men and the fact that he's a lazy ****!!
