Im Not going to lie folks, maybe we really should look at T.O? I mean who else we got? AA has been AWOL this year which was to be expected and Gaffney is a number 2 at best, Fred Davis is our number 1 ATM.. Ouch
TO's going to Tennesee...or so goes the rumor. Beside what do we have Paul, Hankerson, and Austin for? |

All part of the "Suck for Luck" initiative. Muahahahah....I love it when a plan comes together.

Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
We need an Out For The Season Thread.
Hope Helu starts. I think we're in for some serious problems. I know I'm stating the obvious, but its going to be tough. Is that half of our starting offensive unit out? Get Hankerson in there and get him some experience. Same goes for Helu, Austin. |
Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I don't understand why they don't run Torain between the tackles. I know we like to run the stretch runs (is that the name?) but I feel Helu would be better suited for those since he has more speed (well I feel Helu can do anything). Still, I think we should be fine with RBs, as long as our playcaller decides to run the ball.

Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Time to see if any of the youth are ready. MS needs to encourage and get them all on board for the remainder of the season. Really looking forward to seeing who swims and who sinks.

MS also needs to encourage the veterans. I'm glad to hear him talk about that today, but I'd like to see some results. All this "Shanahan is changing the culture" won't mean sh*t unless the team does a better job at playing well when a lot is at stake. In the past two weeks, I've seen just a half a$$ performance in two important games. Players have to do their part no doubt, but in the end the actions of a team is a reflection of their coach. |

Id run as far away from our oline as well!! I guess the strtch is as far as you can get! |
Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
Torrain & Helu will be fine @ RB .. Total bummer for Hightower but we can survive that ... I was thinking today that maybe this is the time for Niles Paul to step up as a sleeper late round pick that blossoms. He seems to have a knack for plays along with Austin. Mix in Gaffney & Armstrong while basing your offense around pounding the rock & FRED DAVIS and things can be done. Season not over, but we are def fighting an up hill battle. Last 2 weeks sucked however the season will shake out this week in Toronto of all places. 4-3 and we roll the dice & see what happens. 3-4 and we are steamrolling the wrong way with a 3 game loosing streak.

Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I look at the Moss and Hightower injuries as an opportunity to give Austin, Paul, Helu and Royster valuable experience. It would not surprise me to have all these guys step it up a notch.

I cant believe someone mentioned T.O.
gag me with a wooden wagon wheel |
Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I think I was brave enough to suggest T.O. yesterday. Why? Moss is out 5-6 wks which I figured. Moss was our best WR. AA has had a ton of drops with Rex and it didn't change with Beck. Basically AA was our deep threat and Moss was our possession WR.
Gaffney has caught nothing long. Paul is only used for blocking. Austin could step up but why has it not happened previously? We need a possession WR, one who can keep defenses honest and one who will have to be accounted for by the defense to free up AA, Gaffney, Austin or whoever. I don't foresee Hankerson doing that or Stallworth. |
Re: Updated: Hightower Torn ACL/Moss Out 5-7 Weeks
I still think that Hankerson is going to be a player very similar to Anquan Boldin. Let him play a couple games, make some catches, get those nerves down, and the guy is going to do big things for us. Mark it down. I watched some tape of him last year, and I would love to see the physicality that he displayed in college at this level. The guy has the tools, I think with a better Quarterback, (Barkley or RGIII) we could definitely see him succeed. Cant just throw out a wr as shit because he hasnt played like an all pro just yet. Take into consideration that we are working with a rookie, in a very short offseason situation, with some absolutely shit quarterbacks throwing him the ball. Let him build some consistency with our qb of the future, and this guy can light it up. I think he will be an all pro in his 3rd year here.

Whats with all the Hankerson talk? The rookie reciever that should be generating buzz right now is Niles Paul.
