The Eagles would still be a playoff contending team with Kolb in the lineup. Can't say the same for the Pats without Brady.
31 TDs vs 4 INTs is just off the charts sick
Really? I think the Eagles would not be tops in the east and with the NFC South so strong and Chicago Bears coming alive, I think they would be outside looking in...Brady second half of the season has been unbelievable. Its a toss up, but I lean towards Vick. Its hard for me to avoid what he has been through, its flat out unbelievable. EVERYONE thought Vick was done and diminished his past preformances as QB...apparently leading the first visiting team to win in Lambaugh field in the playoffs not a big deal. His career W/L record at QB for the Falcons is not bad. He changed the QB position, in college football there is a direct link from Vick to Tebow and Newton, the running QB as a weapon. He was the most hated guy in the sports world and noone wanted him to succeed and now he's carrying a team now in such an impressive fashion. So I cant ignore what he has been through and to see such growth makes him the MVP IMO. |
Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
Are you saying that Vick created the running threat as a QB? It goes back much farther than that, just three obvious names are Major Harris, Tony Rice and Kordell Stewart.
To be clear I am not a Mike Vick hatter. What he did was deplorable but he paid his price for it and acted like a man. One of my best friends growing up was his main receiver in college too, so I have some measure of love for him because of that. I am basing this based on the seasons that the two have had. |

I didnt say create, I said changed. He was/is much better, faster, and more of a playmaker than those 3 combined IMO. Major Harris was a beast though |

Yes he was! Most of my family was/are huge Notre Dame fans and the ones who aren't are Rutgers fans, I was at the game in I think 89 where Harris had maybe his best game. I think he rushed for around 200 yards. I remember my father telling me I would never see another athlete like him (I was 10 at the time) oh how wrong my dad was! Thanks for the clarification! |
Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
Brady is the MVP this year. He has a cast of no names for the most part and they continue to roll over competition.
Rivers would be my second choice. |

Take away Brady and they're lucky to be .500
I dont know, they gotta another Matt Cassel in the depth charts we dont know about? That dude stepped it up pretty big for the Pats a couple years ago. When talking about the MVPs of Brady and Vick, look at those organizations and how they are run. Both are proven winners in the FO. Great talent evaluators, super smart with contracts, know when to let vets walk, coaching is top notch, they will take chances on guys (Moss, TO, Vick) etc. AND they continue to win...So Vick or Brady MVPs? Or are those organization run so effecient they put players in the best situation to succeed at particular points in time? I think you take away Brady and Vick, they may both be in the playoff hunt |
Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
I think the above is a valid point. Only it should be remembered that Cassel is showing that what he did in New England wasn't all just the system or the talent around him. The guy can play some good football.

Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
At this point, I'm going with Brady but Peyton Manning deserves some props... perhaps an honorable mention. The guy is keeping his team in contention with a MASH unit for an offense. He loses wrs on a weekly basis and has no running game, yet he still manages to get the job done. This team won't play for the Super Bowl, hell, they may not make the Playoffs, but the Colts are one team that would be as bad if not worse than the Panthers if Manning went down. In my mind, that makes him the MVP.

Thats something that needs to be defined better, what are the criteria for an MVP? |
Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
Manning had a pretty rough stretch there where he threw a lot of picks. Yeah he's a one man gang right now and doing everything he can, and they would be garbage without him, but I just think there are guys that have clearly had better seasons.

Well, the award is the Most Valuable Player. Where are the Colts without Peyton Manning? Probably sitting on the #1 pick in the draft. While it's true Brady and Vick have had much better seasons, and that 3 week or so stretch where Manning was handing out souvenirs and pick sixes at an epic rate was hard to watch, Manning did what he had to to help his stay above water. While we can all agree that he will not win the MVP, there's really no debate there, I really don't see how there's much argument in that he's truly the most valuable offensive player in the NFL. Now we could certainly make a strong argument for Troy Polamalu being the most valuable player in the NFL bar none, but I hate the Steelers way to much to make it. |

How valuable that specific player is? My concern with that is that you then have to take alot more into consideration. Things like who his back up is, what type of defense the team has (or offense if a defensive player ever wins again) what the offensive line is like, there are just too many things to take into consideration. I think it should go to the player who played at the highest level that year, and how many wins they would have lost without that player should be taken out of the equation. |
Re: Your 2010 NFL MVP is?
Honestly, its probaboly Rivers... but since his team probably wont make the playoffs, ya gotta go with Vick. I mean as good as Brady is, the Pats are going to the playoffs regardless; thats where Brady earns his keep. I think you take Rivers or Vick off their teams, you see the biggest drop off, and thats how I like to figure out who the MVP is.

Was you your best friend Andre Davis? I grew up watching Vick in Blacksburg and since Vick was only there those 2 years I was seeing who your friend was and if he got to play in the National Championship with Vick |
