Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
The trap game has come and gone. Skins will not allow another one. This is a definite win simply based on the fact that our defense is playing so well they will not allow it. Our defense alone will put up 14pts.

Hey, it's my superstition to be somewhat negative...when I am we win...let this boy dream. When I say there's no chance we lose, we lose to the frickin Rams. |

Y'all should be used to this by now. 5-1 when I fail to predict. No reason to break the stupidstition. Redskins will field a squad this week, as will the the Lions

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Mike Tanier puts this game in perspective, like only he can:
Redskins at Lions: Last week, in their "close call" loss, the Lions had the ball for less than 20 minutes. Dan Orlovsky had zero passing yards until midway through the second quarter, when the score was already 21-0. The Lions' offense consisted mostly of one 96-yard pass to Calvin Johnson and two 54-yard Jason Hanson field goals, one of which was made possible by two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties by the Texans. If there was a Hall of Fame for non-predictive events, these plays would have busts. If the Redskins give up a 99-yard touchdown, commit five 15-yard penalties, and get victimized by a couple of 62-yarders, they'll only win by a field goal.
|

There are no definite wins in the NFL. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
I predict no one in the Detroit area will get to see their crappy team play on television this Sunday (per PFT):
DETROIT RESIDENTS SPARED OF WATCHING CRAPPY FOOTBALL Posted by Mike Florio on October 23, 2008, 3:39 p.m. The downtrodden Lions have enjoyed a sellout streak throughout the seven darkest years any NFL team has endured. But the run ends Sunday, when the home game against the Redskins won’t appear on local television. The Lions had previously sold out every game played at Ford Field, which opened in 2002. The run of 51 consecutive sellouts began with the final game of the 2001 season. Asked about the possible non-sellout, Lions coach Rod Marinelli said, “No comment.” Actually, he didn’t. Here’s what he said: “It’s our fault — that’s my fault. If we were playing better, and if we were executing better and we were winning more, then [the fans] would come.” We appreciate Marinelli’s willingness to take the blame, but it’s not as if the Lions have been tearing it up for the past seven years. We think that the economy is factoring into the end of the streak, coupled with the fact that Ford Field has now been around long enough to have lost its novelty A total of 5,000 tickets were unsold as of 72 hours before kickoff. No 24-hour extension was given, which seems to confirm something we heard earlier this year about this specific aspect of the process. As the legend/theory/rumor goes, an extension is provided only if the team has already lined someone up (often, the local television station airing the game) to buy any leftover tickets. Then, a 24-hour extension is announced in the hopes of getting folks who really want to see the game to buy tickets under the premise that there’s a chance the game won’t be shown on television locally. Meanwhile, a behind-the-scenes sellout already has been arranged, and the folks who buy tickets during the 24-hour window help to reduce the size of the pill that a third party ultimately will swallow. |

Lions load the box with 8 and Campbell blows them up for 350+.

Coach Z on the offense against Detroit: "I don't know if we're even gonna gain a yard,...but we're gonna come out and try." Considering the sinister look on his face during the latter part, i get the feeling we are going to smoke these fools. but who knows im goin with

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Redskins 73, Lions 0 Jason Campbell throws 5 TDs. Portis runs for 219 yds. 42-0 at halftime. Hail to the Redskins!

Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
OK, they shouldn't be able to run run on us and they won;t get much passing. Their ST's aren't too good, so I can't see them scoring more than 6-10 points.
We should be able to run all over them - I believe Portis single game high is 224 yards and maybe he can beat that. We won't go to town if the run game is working, so maybe c. 2-250 yards. If we can get 4-500 yards offense, we should score 28-35 points at least. 3-4 TD's on the ground, 1-2 TD's in the air and/or a FG or two. Overall, I go 31-6 Skins. |
Re: Redskins vs. Lions predictions
Lions 12
Redskins 38 I think S. Alexander will have a TD, Portis will get a TD, Moss will have 2 TDs, and D. Thomas gets his first. |
