Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
This is.... I mean, WTF is going on??? How is any of this defensible?? First we hire Zorn as an OC, which is fine, even though he's never been anything but a positions coach. Then we dance around the Fassel thing for a few weeks, blow him off for a bit to mess with Spags, Spags says thanks but no thanks... Then we hire this Palermo guy to coach the D line just b/c he's Vinny's boy and ignore the fact he's never even had a cup of coffee in the NFL, then out of nowhere Zorn becomes HC??
We're a mess. No question. The rest of the league is laughing at us. I don't know if I've ever seen a coaching search handled more poorly than this. Now who's gonna be OC? Did Fassel just decide he doesn't want to be a part of this circus and tell day to go F himself?? As much as we wanted to think Snyder and Vinny were being thorough a deliberate, it's again becomes glaringly obvious these guys are in left field. Go ahead and bash me for being negative and impatient. Fine. Has Danny given ever given me a reason not to? This is bad. And Zorn may well end up being a good coach.Andy Reid was in the same kind of mold when he came to Philly. It's not so much the candidate that bothers me, it was the process. But Vinny and Danny are joke. A friggin joke. Who's gonna be the OC????
in the immortal words of Leonardo Dicaprio " I concur" |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
Hey ... here's a solution to you guys bashing the hire...
Bring in Mariucci as OC... he can show Zorn the ropes... they both know the West Coast Offense... from Walsh/Holmgren... there you go |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
well this is my first time..here goes,Jim Zorn is a hell of a hire.smart, sensible, and excitement is what he will bring...there is a concern about the experience at play calling but ,remember he called plays for years behind center..

Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
hey... just an idea... Mariucci said he wants to get back coaching... no HC jobs open... they have the same offensive philosophy
Only problem is ... I don't think Snyder was impressed with him... |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
How can you say this? What on his resume says "creative offensive mind"? So creative he's been stuck as a QB coach. This is the same as making Bill Lazor the HC. Love the optimism. I'm hoping it works out as well but it's hard to actually have any factual basis for the optimism.
Oh, and Garrett isn't a HC either.
I don't know that Zorn is ready to be a head coach, but his title of QB Coach wasn't entirely accurate in Seattle as he was very involved in the play calling |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
I suppose this was the only rational decision left. Since JACKASS Snyder took his lil merry time in interviewing. He let all the top candidates pass him by with his friggin' whine & dine 28 hour interviews. So now we're left with the bottom of the barrel.
Not happy with this choice at all! I don't see Zorn being a leader ....who knows maybe he'll prove me wrong. I more pissed off with the way this whole thing was handled. I can't stand our owner! And now what!?? Campbell and the rest of the QB's have to learn yet another whole new system right?? *sighs* |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
In all seriousness, Mooch would probably be a bad idea, because he would overshadow the head coach. But if they do it, my fealings wont be hurt. I just hope, that a year from now, we will be saying that Dnyder is a genious.

Anything less and you have to think this is a very strange hire. Remember, he was brought on as an OC 2 weeks ago which was already a step up in the ranks. He never had a chance to prove himself at that level and now he's the HC. I pray all the Zorn lovers are right. |
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
maybe promote Byner to be OC?
|
Re: BREAKING NEWS: Multiple Sources Confirm Jim Zorn Named Head Coach
zorn will be a good coach he has a ton off offensive experience, but as far as play calling experience,he will come out on top.after all he called plays behind center for years.
