Re: Lavar In 2008

Personally I think that Lavar could still be a could DE. Even if it is just a preseason project/publicity stunt to coincide with his restaurant opening.

Good player, but we have already been through this, why go through it again?

I don't really have a feeling towards Lavar. I'd say if he was truly coming back, keep him through training camp and pre-season and see what he can do. If the knees are shot, cut him.

Are you kidding me??? Lavar sucks, and was always overrated. What good do you think Lavar would do for this team?

Lavar kept his play book for the Giants to study
Wonder if he ever read it?

Lavar has lived off of one play his whole career. And it was while he played for Penn State against Illinois. This dude was over for me when he signed with the Giants...I would'nt even want this clown on the Redskins, its bad enough he is on TV

I have very little feeling about this either way. I liked him when he was here, but only for his big plays. If he is cheap, his knees are healthy, he can shut up learn the system and play in position, and can benefit the team, then sure, why not? It seems a no brainer. But that is a lot of IF's, and IMO I highly doubt it will happen.

i dont want his bs. but when he did finally get on the field for us last time, he actually played alright. not the super freak from before his knees went to crap, but he wasn't bad.

the coach he hated is gone, and he'd be a vet min player (and easy to cut if there's drama).

that said, it's been forever since he played regularly, and i kinda doubt he's in great shape for football right now, or totally committed to making it work, but maybe the whole run here did something for him.
That's not why I locked it. We keep discussions open all the time that we disagree with. I'm tired of discussing LaVar but that is not why I locked the thread.

I locked it because there was no source or link to what T.O. Killa was saying. That's why I said provide a link and I'll reopen it. Killa PMed me that he saw it on Comcast but had no link (understandable since it was on TV), and so I reopened it.

So don't go make assumptions about what moderators here feel the need to do.
I was not making assumptions I was just going by experience from reading this message board. Lighten up a little bit.

No actually I think you need to lighten up especially with accusations that we lock threads we don't agree with. That's simply not true and insulting to the mods here.

You must be confusing us with another message board

Re: Lavar In 2008

what would a LaVar thread be with out my two cents. I personally think if the guy can play, what is the risk? He definately would come cheap, and like i said if healthy could provide some needed depth. He is only 29, with a year of rest on his body. He looked like he has bulked back up a bit from earlier in the year.

I think you should always give guys a second change. Some of these guys that screw up things early in their career look back and change their outlook and realize their NFL life can be cut short at any second, where when they are young and going crazy on the field, they feel indestructable. Look at Chris Carter as an example, he screwed up so much that he was kicked out of the NFL, then came back to mentor younger players, and played pretty damn good himself. No way am I comparing the two on the field, just saying young guys that have the NFL, their livelyhood, taken away from them early in life, they seem to come back and be good players and good mentors for younger guys. I am sure there are some other examples out there, just can't remember off hand.

if he is healthy, i say it wouldn't hurt to look at him. I believe, if he is thinking of coming back, he is working on building those burned bridges back up.

Perfect example of what JoeRedskin was talking about. This guy thinks everyone loves him and cares so much about him. I wonder how hard he is going to hit bottom when he realizes he's wrong.

Why did you have to bring in reality to this, it was fun.
