why are the Redskins still adding wideouts that are not worth shi*. I was watching that Miami game a little Sunday as I kept falling asleep because it was so boring and saw when Jansen went down. I knew he was gone for the season instantly. Why not pick up some depth there. Geez the skins management is so dumb. Way worse then the Cowboys management for not picking up D Darius at safety and having a team filled with DE on defense. I see it now skins are gonna trade away there draft picks again. I love it.

Dallas needs another WR to compliment Owens So maybe trade Trash and Lloyd for Spears and somebodyelse

Thrash and Lloyd for Spears and someone else? Like who, their water boy? Give me a break the chances of us trading away Lloyd with his contract and Thrash, with him being Thrash are nil. I wouldn't be surprised though if the Cowboys did try to make a trade with someone because I don't think they have anyone on that team besides T.O. who can be considered a starter.

The more presiing problem for them is to find a nosetackle. Kind of key in a 3-4 setup. I'm sure they will be fine since Wade Phillips is a lot better than Bill Parcells and knows how to use the talent to its full potential down there.

They should have just made Garret the Head Coach and let Roy Williams call his own defenses. He probably is at least aware of how bad he is in coverage.

Adding a wideout really kills us. We're bringing in competition, which is a good thing. How are we losing anything? Nice... real nice.

Why not pick up depth there at tackle?

Did you see any sacks after he went down? Did we not gain 191 yards on the ground? Did the rookie that filled in, who will be back-up tackle against the eagles, play a flawless game?

Make sense, or go home. You're not welcome here if your going to just blab off some BS...

Your ridiculous, making an already tarnished fan base look even worse.

Didn't you read it was too boring for me too watch.

Try the whole season with a rookie and you will get rookie results.

Adding WR just does not make any sense that all. Washington goes out Gets Lloyd and Randel El cut Patten picks Thrash up and now picks up Reche. Yall are not good at throwing the ball in the first place why keep adding WR.

As much as it pains me to say it, the Cowgirls fan makes a good point, that speaks to a larger issue with the 'Skins' management: They are always having to cover up past and expensive mistakes instead of actually truly improving the team or adding depth. They are now making up for the ill-advised signing of Lloyd, which is taking rosters spots away from depth in the secondary; this year in the draft they had to make up for AA signing by drafting Landry, which prevented them from drafting the D-Line help they needed; by not re-signing Smoot they had to draft Carlos and pass on Merriman, think he could have helped?

Not to rub salt in the wound, but the Cowgirls will probably have a very high if not the #1 pick next year thanks to the stupid browns.

Great news now our top 4 recievers are:

Santana Moss
Antwaan Randle El
Reche Caldwell
Brandon Lloyd

I like the sound of it.

Well it doesn't seem like they were going to pick a D-lineman this year, considering they felt good about drafting Golston and Montgomery last year. The notion that we don't have depth at OT is humorous. After Jansen, we've got Wade, Heyer. Are we supposed to be 4 deep? How many teams are?

And I personally think the Merriman argument is a tired one. A lot of other teams passed on him too. You think the Vikings are better off with Troy Williamson than Merriman?

As opposed to watching the Dallas D getting lit up like a Christmas tree by a team with a guard turned LT and without it's RB?

You mean the Cowboys management that picked up Drew Bledsoe and signed all those wonderful O-linemen to protect him? Or the one that signed TO? Or the one that picked a LB in the first round (Carpenter) who can't crack the starting lineup? Or the one that had so much confidence in Romo that it signed him to contract extension in the offseason? Or the one that gave a chronic underachieving and fat guard close to $50M? Or the one that passed on Steven Jackson because it thought Julius Jones was a franchise back? Or the one that hired a head coach who has never won a playoff game for a club that hasn't won a playoff game since the 1990s?

I did not say they should have drafted a D-Tackle, but some outside pass rush help would have been nice. Are you saying they would not be better off with Ryan Clark (assuming they re-sign him instead of picking up AA) starting next to Taylor and Gaines Adams either starting or playing situationally at Defensive End?

I have no problem with the present depth at OT, I was referring to defensive secondary depth.

Yes, a lot of teams passed on Merriman, that is why he would have been available at #9, which I believe is where Ol' Double Move got picked.

You can certainly quibble with individual examples, and I grant you that the Merriman one is the weakest, but my point was that the overall constant covering of personnel mistakes prevents the team from moving forward and getting better from year to year. It is not just plain bad look that this organization has been to the playoffs twice in the past decade.

Yep that is the same Cowboys management. I love the Caldwell pickup. He's only 28, came cheap, and adds depth where Lloyd is unproven, Thrash is basically a ST player now, and The other guy Boiford is a camp scrub. And SS you make a good point, The Merrimean issue is a dead argument. The Lions, Bucs, Bears, and Vikings all passed on him.

I think people think Ryan Clark is better than he is because he's a good guy that's not here anymore. I wish we had traded down and got a pass-rushing DE and some help elsewhere (OG maybe?). I don't think any DE in this year's draft was worthy of the #6 pick.

I think we're more proactive than given credit for. And not all the other teams are as infallible as Redskins fans seem to believe.

Rock Your Face 09-11-2007 11:50 PM

Re: JLC: Redskins Sign WR Reche Caldwell

Clark was not a great player, but in my opinion, his value was enhanced because he seemed to make ST a better player. So when you lost him, you lost some of Taylor so to speak. He also would have come rather cheap.

I do not think other teams are infallible, and I think the Front Office was better this year in keeping draft picks, making a good pickup in Baker-Fletcher, and even better non-move in keeping Rocky. I simply think they would be better served by taking a longer view of things.
