Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Does Eric Winston give two shits about that? It's HIS perception(heavily influenced by his agent) about a teams' potential to win games that matters. He's seeing Jamaal Charles, Brandon Flowers, the dude who had a great season in New England, Bowe, etc, and a team that once won the division a couple years back. Firing a head coach, ultimately, is mostly a symbolic gesture. Judging the "winningess" of team requires more weight to be put on the current talent on the team, "reputation", and recent history, etc.
Their recent history is they haven't won a playoff game since 1993, and they just finished last in the worst division in football. *edit-sorry I quotted the wrong person |
Same here about Carriker, he has really revived his career with us and outplayed what we gave up for him. The rotation of Bowen, Carriker, Jenkins, Cofield, and Neild is pretty exciting for next year.
It's really amazing to think that two years ago none of these guys were on the team. Now we have one of the best front 7s in football. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Anybody know how the visit with Demetrius Bell went? He would be a great addition and he is only 27 yrs old.

He left without a contract. Supposedly he's using us to drive his price up with the bills |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
Even though, it has yet to translate on the field. The combination of Bruce Allen, Mike Shanahan, and even Dan Snyder has made major improvements in the redskins personnel.
RGIII will bring with him what it's going to take for the redskins to get over the hump for the redskins players talent to consistently start showing on the field. |

No I mean we have a shot if things don't work out with the bills, but it doesn't seem likely we get Bell. Id give us a 35% chance we get Bell. |

If we had to pick the best guy out of that group, who would we take? Cofield? Jenkins? Jenkins has yet to play a snap, but might very well be our best DL-man. |

^ So you say they were below average last year?

Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
^ So you say they were below average last year?
Bowen and Carriker without question. In Cofield's case, the group of "nose tackles" is so small and exclusive that it's hard to say he was below average. I thought he performed adequately.
Cofield was below average as far as as all defensive tackles go, but that might have just been an effect of the scheme, i.e. he's doing the job of two men in a 4-3 scheme. Same with Carriker and Bowen I suppose, although Bowen wore down considerably after a hot start. He wasn't good at all when we had that long losing streak. I wouldn't pick any of the five as not NFL caliber. I think it's just mostly a group of available guys, and Jenkins, the prospect who hasn't played a snap yet. |
Re: 2012 Redskins Free Agency Tracker
we need some real fat on the nose. how many legit tubs are in the draft this year?
