Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Is it possible that MS and KS have been touting Beck all offseason to light a fire under Rex and get him to work harder in the hopes that he will prove to be a better QB?
Sounds like genius coaching to me.....and does anyone else wonder more and more every day why Malcolm Kelly is still occupying a roster spot on our team? I am tired of waiting. Lets get someone in there who can contribute in our practices. Kelly will probably be cut and be in on a handful of plays during our workouts and preseason games. Why not get a guy in there that can contribute and be a "sleeper" starter (no names come to mind. Im sure someone will think of several) that will probably be cut anyway, but we can get some benefit from having? |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I suspect they're working on an injury settlement with Kelly...but I'm just guessing
As for Rex, yes I believe a big part of touting Beck was a negotiating/motivating ploy toward Rex. What I find curious is that Grossman turned down a longer term deal (I forget if it was here or elsewhere) for a short term deal. To me, that tells me that Rex believes he's going to start this year and have the opportunity to prove he deserves a long term contract. But I mean if Beck doesn't start, what does that mean for him? Seems like this year is kind of make or break for his career, particularly as a starter. |

Hopefully this will help.... Rich Campbell LaRon Landry says he's coming off the PUP list in time for the Baltimore game next week. #Redskins I hope Atogwe is not out for long, I'd like to see how he fits in this defense. More importantly, I'd like to see him healthy. |

Perhaps he is making personal goals and beleives this is his last chance to make it in this league. And I think if Beck has a solid preseason it will be nice to know we have a decent backup. Plus, does Beck have a cult yet? Maybe he will get one of those too. |

^ only if we get Kristin Wiig too. I bet she could play for M Kelly.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I'd like to see a better showing from Hank...
"John Keim To calm the masses: hankerson had a good day catching the ball. #redskins 1 minute ago from Mobile Web" |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Hank apparently changed gloves today.
I hope they're gold. The big white gloves were throwing me off all day. |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I did not see Lorenzo Alexander play one snap against the Steelers. I can believe tht no one has mentioned it. I would gues that may mean he is on the way out. Also, Reggie Jones played as the first second stringer. He replaced Hall in the first half and only gave up one pass. I would say that this could be a big deal if he can be a good corner for the Redskins.

Preseason Hero material IMO |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Alexander played.

Re: Training camp 2011 thread
I think Beck would be cut before Lorenzo Alexander
And did anyone see that article in the WaPo about Reggie Jones' childhood? Wow! Mom set his dad on fire And in other news, I think James Davis put the final nail in his coffin today...not that he ever really had a strong chance of making the roster |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
@granthpaulsen
Grant Paulsen Mike Shanahan: The #Redskins do not know where James Davis was today. He was "missing in action." @Russellmania980 Chris Russell Mike Shanahan says on James Davis "If u see him, let me know," and was it unexcused absence "that's very fair to say." #Redskins @Redskins Redskins.com Mike Shanahan said TE Fred Davis has had "a heckuva camp." Davis could see increased role if Chris Cooley is sidelined. @ryanohalloran Ryan O'Halloran Five quickees from #Redskins AM: 1. S LaRon Landry says he will "most definitely" play third preseason game. Hopes to come off PUP this week @Redskins Redskins.com Mike Shanahan on Malcolm Kelly: "It's hard to make the club if you're not practicing." Kelly sidelined with foot injury. @CHICKatCSN CHICK HERNANDEZ “@JDavis_24: Freaking Fire Alarm going off in the hotel. #NoSleepGang” we now know where James was |
Re: Training camp 2011 thread
Davis' fire alarm tweet was from yesterday, not today...and if you have time to tweet you have time to let the coaches know where you are and what's going on.
