Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
Looks like the Pernell McPhee signing is getting close to becoming official:
JP Finlay Verified account @JPFinlayNBCS Pernell McPhee expected to finalize deal with #Redskins today, per sources. Outside linebacker will help in pass rush and set run edge. I hope we can sign Hankins sometime this week. I feel that with all of these signings, the team can have more flexibility in the draft. Also, signing Hankins wouldn't count against us getting compensatory picks next offseason, since he was cut by Indy.
McPhee missed several games each year at Chicago. I am sure his contract will be heavily incentive based, high in roster bonus cash, like what Galette was NOT wanting. His cap number should leave plenty for Hankins. And I imagine the FO was kind of working through frameworks to make sure both players can be signed. |

It's official, the Redskins announced they signed McPhee.

JP Finlay interviewed Bruce today on his podcast (link below). Both from JPs comments before the interview and Bruces answer to a question surrounding not signing guys who’ve come in, i think it likely the source was actually Bruce. Would hope we could still get Hankins, but if not, I think the 'skins have done well in free agency. There might still be a chance Breeland winds up coming back, possibly. Still, I think it's setting us up for a proper draft this year. |

I think they told Breeland not to let the door kick him on the way out. But i agree it’s been a very solid free agency. I’m fine with letting everyone they did go. Fullers the only one that hurts. |

I’m curious about that. Were there reports he was a problem? I thought he had a decent season and he ought to be cheaper after a voided contract. I wouldn’t mind a return at the right price. We know it will be less than 3 yrs at $24M with $11M guaranteed as that’s the contract he just lost out on. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I could see Breeland coming back on like a 1 year 5 million dollar deal and then rebooting his free agency next year.

So we basically are the only ones who could sign him. If we want to bring him back, I don't see him having much of a choice. Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |

I don't think the Skins are done in FA. It has been reported that the Skins have stayed in touch with Bennie Logan's agent, for example. Also, there are still some good players who may be cut for salary cap reasons and the Skins could make a bargain basement signing, as well. |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I don't think Breeland's going to get much of a deal from any team this year. There's real concern about the wound on his foot. If it requires a skin graft like they're saying, those take forever to heal. He likely would not be ready until the regular season, if that.

But from his perspective, he ought to be interested in a deal that gives him a chance to prove he’s healthy. It’s now a Buyer’s market. Given the familiarity we have with each other, we’d seem like the likely candidate to take a flier. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
