Around $20 mil a year??? Well, at least know the 'skins can focus on trading up for RGIII.
And a $25 + million signing bonus. Haven't confirmed but was told our potential offer would be around 4 years $70-75 million including a signing bonus of around $10 million

Tannehill only has 19 starts? Could be a lot of upside to the kid.

Absolutely, I would guess that he will get about 50 million guaranteed in the first 3 years of any deal. Structure the contract with however many years you like, 4 -7 years but he knows this is his last contract.

That is a lot of money. How many teams can afford that and what kind of other free agent upgrades would a team like the Skins realistically be able to afford after committing that amount of cash to Peyton?

I'm curious now though, why would Peyton's camp eliminate a potential suitor? Even if he doesn't want to sign here for reasons not related to money, why not use us to drive up the price? If you want the most guaranteed money, then you would at least keep little Dannys team on your list, right?

It surprises me how many fans and sports talk ppl in this area continue to talk as though Vinny Cerrato and Snyder were still running this team in regards to this Manning situation. This is why I really don't listen to the local sports station.

With the rumored 40 million in cap room, the Skins cap guy could structure a deal where PM would only count about 15 million towards the 2012 cap, leaving you 25 million left to spend on others. Now his cap numbers would go much higher in years 2013 and 2014.
Really Tom Brady may have something to say about that.

You know what would be more awesome then a redskins super bowl if you would leave this board and actually join a Giants board.

If anyone agrees quote me and post the word "this"
This,this,this.this,this,this,this,this,this,this,this,and this...

But with that size contract, and with it only counting 15 in the first year, wouldn't this end up being one of those contracts that puts us back in cap hell toward the end?

Also, if 25 million enough to bring in a receiver or two, a cb, possible a safety, a lb, and offensive line help.

honestly, PM is probably worth 20-25mill a year, i'm just not sure that i'd be down with tying soo much money to one guy. I mean, if the skins pay him, chances are he'll play 6 snaps and be out for the year... that's just how it seems to be.

I'd rather get nicks, a RT and carr (ditch hall for savings) then grab some mid level guys (meachem, rachal, etc) with RGIII instead.

When you think about it Miami really is a good situation for him. Great weather, he already has a place there, they have Marshall, Bush, Bess, add in Wayne and maybe someone like Tamme, and that offense is ready to roll.

Cap Hell is a myth created by "haters" usually pukes or gints fans who get tired of the Redskins signing big named FA's. The Gints just restructured Eli's contract and it saved them about 7 million this year, all they did was push some money into later years on the contract. There are ways around the cap if you have an owner with deep pockets and we do. Of course Shanny is now running the show with roster moves so we are nowhere near as aggressive as in the past.

25 million is plenty to fill all of your needs, the question is will Shanny go on a spending spree or will he continue to build through the draft only adding a free agent here and there?

All I know is we need a QB, this is not the year to get tight with money or draft picks to get one. We need PM or RG3 or we will watch 6-10 again and do all of this again next offseason. I am not sold on any other QB in free agency or the draft.
