Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
I think it is a cute concept and it draws back on the history of the Hogs of the 80s and 90s, but I don't think it would be a cool look overall.
Yea I understand the concept and I guess it could be considered cute but unless I'm a Razorback.... lol.... I'm not interested. Besides, honestly it should be more of a big pig which is what the image was back in the 80's. and I can't see rooting for the Hogs or Pigs. |
Not to be hatefull but it looks like crap. IF, and I say IF for whatever reason the team had to change their name (which I hope never happens) I'd prefer they simply pick something DC or capital related and change their colors to Red, White, and Blue. The Redskins are the only team not using some form of those colors. Professional team that is. Well and DC United I guess. But soccor is not my cup of tea and don't care what color they use.
The Washington Sentinels. Keanu Reeves will be our starting QB. |

Completely agree. I just hope we can stick with the redskins name forever. |

We're not changing. We've won the court case every time.

Dolphins talking to league offices about changing logo in 2013.
Probably going to be a bad move.
It’s not a certainty that change is coming, team CEO Mike Dee told Volin. The goal, however, is to consider a desire from fans to see the team “freshen up” its look. “We’re not talking about changing colors or taking the sun off the helmet. It’s not going to be like when Tampa Bay changed from orange to pewter gray,” Dee said. “It’s definitely keeping one eye on what’s traditional in the logo intact, while keeping one eye on a 21st century version of that.” Volin writes that the new logo would feature changes to the dolphin, likely with the facial expression gone and the aquatic mammal looking like the dolphin from the now-defunct Dolphin Stadium logo. I like that logo better than what they have now.

Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
That looks like the logo an airline company would use.

Yeah, I agree. That will look cool on a helmet of someone running fast down the field, unlikely their dorky traditional logo. |
Re: 2012 NFL Uniform Thread - Nike takes over
From my experience, Native Americans don't find the Redskin name offensive. For example, last month I was driving to Grants, NM, which goes through the Laguna Pueblo. I stopped for gas and a Laguna cop saw me wearing a Redskin tee and went out of his way to hold open a door for me. I thank him and he replied "Only cause your a Redskin fan" with a smile.

I don't know why, but I'm kind of diggin' that! The 'skins, I mean, Hogs could keep their colors, and it is a tribute to Redskins history. But yeah, Pumba needs some work...LOL! |

That's just one Native American. Ask a group from the Sioux nation, Cheerokee nation, Apache nation, or/and Choctaw nation if the Redskin name is offensive and most of them will say that it is. |

Have you determined from extensive polling of these Native American nations that that is the case? Do you have any research to back this up? To make claims like that you need to back it up. |
