They'll never say it publicly, but Shanahan (and the organization) is going to tank the season. He can't be serious if all these reports are true about handing the job to John Beck. Either he's tanking or he thinks he's smarter than everyone. I think the organization is looking at the 2012 draft class for a QB. That's why they passed on all the QB's this year.

They are not tanking the season. Look, there are only a few Manning's and Brady's and Brees's out there... the rest of the NFL has to go with "other guys" to captain and QB their team. There are a lot of worse QB situations on other teams than the Redskins. How would you like to be the 49ers or the Cardinals or the Titans or the Raiders.

If Beck plays within the system, something McNabb couldn't do and makes fewer mistakes than Grossman (i.e. TD/INT ratio) and the Defense is not 31st in the league this coming year, then maybe these Skins win 9 games with Beck at QB. I'm mean, was Schaub a stud before he came to the Texans?

Ahhh, the ever popular secret conspiracy theory - and, of course, it's impossible to disprove b/c the more MS/BA deny it, the more they "prove" the conspiracy.

Tanking in football is patently absurd.
Mike Shanahan tanking on purpose is beyond absurd.

I'll believe Mike Shanahan is gonna tank when and if:

o He trades London Fletcher to a contending team.
Mike loves the guy and has utmost respect for him a player and a leader.
Shanahan wouldn't waste the end of Fletcher's career in a tank job.
Bruce Allen actually cited Fletcher as part of the reason why they're trying to be competitive:
“I don’t know what rebuild is. I think there’s an opportunity each week to do well in the NFL. Last year we had a chance to do better, we had a chance to do worse than our 6-10 record. And every opportunity that we’re gonna be given this year, we’ve got to compete. I don’t think it’s fair to a veteran player to say that we’re gonna worry about 2014 instead of 2011. London Fletcher deserves the opportunity to try to win every game we play, and that’s what our organization’s gonna focus on.”
what are you talking about? rivers, vick, ben, romo, ryan and even josh freeman are not "other guys." jason campbell is a better qb than john freakin beck. the guy got traded from balt. for some guy named doug dutch. the ravens have a legit front office and if they thought he could play then they would've kept him cause bulger is probably outta there.

we're not winning 9 games in the nfc east with john beck. give me a break.

You're joking right???? Wow. I think Beck can be better then Jason Campbell. No one is tanking anything. I said this before and ill say it again......ANDREW LUCK IS NOT GOD!!!!!!!! He's a great college qb. You never know how he will pan out. I bet Sam Braford has a better NFL career then Luck. I'm 100% behind Beck. He is an unknown and could surprise.

Well the Ravens traded a first and a second for Boller. And they seemed to have been wrong about him. So maybe they were wrong about Beck.

Personally, I still don't see what the hype is about Beck but maybe he's improved over the past year

Beck had no chance in Baltimore with Joe Flacco. He's maintained he wanted to be in a position where he could eventually become a starting QB again. That was not going to happen there so he probably talked his way out.

I don't believe for a second that Shanahan would tank the season. Nevertheless, I can see how you might think that Shanahan must be trying to lose if he's planning to use Beck as his starting QB.
Personally, I still don't see what the hype is about Beck but maybe he's improved over the past year
I see far more people adamant that Beck can't play then people hyping him.

I don't see believing that Beck has a chance to be a viable option at QB is hype.

Maybe hype was a bit of a hyperbolic word to use there...he's no Chase Daniel though. There I said it
