It’s been well established that the Trump administration coverage confirmed everything we knew about the media…especially when we compare it to a clearly worse President in Biden.

I don't know how any sane person can say Biden (Who is bottom 10 imo) is worse than Trump. Trump tried to overthrow the government of the United States (making him an enemy of the Constitution and the US)

It appears he plans to disassemble the structure that made the US the worlds dominant power (I think he will pull us out of NATO and other alliances that give the US huge advantages over China, Russia and other adversaries). He will abdicate the US hegemony in favor of China. Even if he isn't a Russian agent he may as well be because an actual agent couldn't do more harm to the US intentionally than Trump would be doing stupidly.

As for the NYT I don't see how they can be destroying their credibility as they haven't had any for a very long time.

So was listening to Steve Scully show on Sirius POTUS channel and they had a WP reporter on reporting on the 8000 deaths in Gaza with 3000 of them kids and she quoted the Gaza health admin. She was reporting this like this was good info. That Health admin is Hamas and they already got caught with the untrue claim that the Israelis destroyed a hospital killing 500. Why are WP reporters still using Hama's claims and not really disputing those claims?

Then they try and defend Trump by saying he messed up his words. Fuckin clowns. He probably meant to say took over the grounds where eventually airports would be. How the Trumptards bash Biden for saying off the wall shit is an all time laugher.

There are literally millions of people who think Biden said that, and they cannot fathom how he could be POTUS. But when Trump said it they called it a nothing burger. Nuke hurricanes. Drink bleach. Jews are good with money. All just normal. Biden says 1974 instead of 1973 while recalling a memory and he is completely brain dead.

Chico, you win. Trump is the greatest president who ever lived.

We're sitting over here arguing about corruption, etc. meanwhile Trump was probably thinking this entire time how pathetic the number of votes is compared to the number of citizens in this country - so his master plan was obviously to turn politics into reality tv so that more of us would be engaged about the future of our country. We're playing checkers and he's playing chess. Brilliant! Voter turnout has never been higher.

New role for Amy Coney Barrett’s father inside Christian sect sparks controversy
Alleged abuse survivors at People of Praise worry Michael Coney may block group’s handling of sexual abuse from becoming public

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2024/jan/29/amy-coney-barrett-father-christian-sect-controversy

Survivors of alleged childhood abuse inside the People of Praise, a secretive Christian sect that counts Amy Coney Barrett as a member, are voicing concerns that the supreme court justice’s father, who was recently promoted to a new role, may seek to block information about the group’s historic handling of sexual abuse becoming public.

Barrett, a conservative justice who was appointed by former US president Donald Trump, has never publicly disclosed her participation in the covenant Christian community, which some former members have compared to a cult.

Her father, Michael Coney, a Louisiana-based lawyer who worked for Shell and has been a longtime member of the PoP, was this month appointed to serve as the group’s new legal counsel. Coney is also taking the helm of a “consultation team” that, internal correspondence seen by the Guardian shows, has been dealing with “issues of concern” to the group’s 1,100 members, including “misuse of authority” inside the PoP, “lack of accountable leadership”, and “mistrust of the board”

Haven't seen this anywhere else but here, now if it was the Catholic Church it would be all over the media.

Reminds me of my own mother and Scientology. 30 years in and she's still convinced L.Ron Hubbard was the best person ever. I see a lot of parallels between her/L.Ron and Chico/Trump. Trump could really fix his financial problems if he just registered Trumpanity as a religion and started selling books/courses for 5-10k each. His people would eat that shit up.

No gif or meme needed; 2 starting points:

1. Chico is a Washington Football Team fan and a conservative; you're a Giants fan and a waffling lying dog-faced pony soldier who plays both sides. You think saying "I don't support Biden" is an actual legit criticism of Biden. It's fucking not. It's a bullshit cop-out.

2. While I do think Chico is obnoxious (sorry buddy it's true, but he might even admit it), I think your qualities are way worse. You're a smug, condescending asshole, with absolutely zero self-awareness, who thinks he's way smarter than he actually is. I find your qualities way, way worse.

and 2 bonus points:

1b. I know I can be obnoxious myself, so I can relate more to Chico than you.

2b. Chico gets criticized by TONS of people here, you get away with bloody fucking murder. Frankly, it's the most frustrating thing I experience here. So sure, maybe I don't criticize Chico, but neither do I respond to or support most of his comments.

And finally, while I said no gif/meme is needed, doesn't mean I won't use one:

Chris Wallace Exposes Most Telling Part Of Tucker Carlson’s Putin Interview
CNN's Wallace slammed his former Fox News colleague's "eager puppy" style and said calling him a "useful idiot" to Russia "is unfair to useful idiots."

CNN’s Chris Wallace slammed his former Fox News colleague Tucker Carlson for the “softball interview” he conducted with Russian President Vladimir Putin that he shared on X, formerly Twitter, last week.

“Tucker Carlson showed up in Moscow to interview Vladimir Putin. It turned out to be anything but an interview,” Wallace began on Saturday. “Putin droned on for two hours and seven minutes while Tucker sat there like an eager puppy. Occasionally, but rarely, he got in a question.

“But more telling than what Tucker asked is what he didn’t ask,” he continued. “Nothing about why Putin invaded a sovereign country, nothing about targeting civilians, nothing about Russian war crimes.”

“What was very shocking, very disturbing was the city of Moscow, where I’d never been … it was so much nicer than any city in my country,” he said, calling the Russian capital “so much cleaner, and prettier aesthetically — its architecture, its food, its service — than any city in the United States.”

Bill Maher talking to chico............

https://news.yahoo.com/entertainment/bill-maher-lampoons-people-blaming-165056092.html

Bill Maher tore into Republican talking points that President Joe Biden is the cause of every single thing going wrong in America.
“But facts are facts,” Maher continued. “For months, we’ve been treated to a steady stream of very good economic news. Unemployment is low. The stock market is high. We’re investing billions in a green energy economy. Only minutes after it was too late.”

“Everyone who wants a job can find one,” he added, “except Nikki Haley.”

Maher bemoaned the predictable “hyperbole” leading up to the 2024 election.

“Is it really healthy to blame every problem in your life on Joe Biden?” the comedian said. “I can't find a job in this historically low unemployment economy. Thanks a lot, Joe Biden. The price of milk in France has gone up, I blame Biden. My wife hasn’t had sex with me for months—damn you, Joe Biden!”

Maher pointed out that a record number of American voters now identify as independents, which he attributed to “mindless partisanship which isn’t just making it harder to get things done, it’s boring.” He didn’t spare left-leaning news outlets.

It's ridiculous to have Obama in the top 10. He actually accomplished very little. You can blame that on my party's obstructionism if you like (I blame that on Obama myself), but still very little was accomplished. He remains the most overrated President in US history (should be rated in the 25-30 range).

Something that also needs to be pointed out is this ranking comes from current academics and political scientists at that. This equates to over 90% liberals and large majority of them are almost certainly progressives. It will skew the results hurting recent GOP presidents and helping recent Dem presidents.

Re: Media Bias

Well, was listening to Julie Mason and she had on an analyst involved in conducting the survey (don't remember the name) discussing this Presidential ranking poll and he actually hit my point about the poll being skewed and laughed about it and said yeah it was major factor for ranking the recent Presidents and likely will adjust in posterity (ie he thinks Obama will eventually drop back to his previous 16th ranking or even lower, while Reagan will move back into the top 10). Additionally, he doesn't think Trump, barring a 2d term, will move up much, if at all, as even the conservatives in the survey ranked him pretty low. If Trump does get a 2d term then the opportunity would exist to move up from the bottom dwellers.

Re: Media Bias

So, I read this last week and has since been picked up by other media outlets and spread over the past week. It really doesn't tell us anything most already don't know (although libs will deny this is story is accurate but I think yeah they know too).

This article is from an NPR editor. We'll see how long he lasts (He did wait to go public until after what appears to be the primary culprit (the former CEO) departed.
