Greg Cosell (sr. producer at NFL Films) being very complimentary of Sam Howell. He is getting love from the media, just not from the big names yet. I agree with them. Howell has his flaws but they are fixable. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
When Howell has a full season under his belt he should be a lot better, interested to see how he develops between now and then

Jason Kelce "When Howell is on he's hard to stop"
You guys comparing Howell and Mahomes?
SH threw 52 check down passes last game. Sam is playing twinkle twinkle little star on piano while Pat is Mozart. One is not like the other. The pat you should be comparing him to is sack machine Patrick Ramsey.
That dime TD to McLaurin was w/ out question a check down. (roll eyes) |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
If you look at QB's drafted last year, you can argue Sam is better than all of them.
Pickett 1st round Willis 3rd round Zappe 4th round Purdy 7th round Ridder 3rd round |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
I've said it before, but I'll say it again, given the less than ideal conditions Sam has operated under, he has looked more than capable of being a really good NFL QB. Imagine if he had a better O-line, a defense that could stop someone, and an OC that didn't have runningameophobia.
I don't mind drafting a QB in the later rounds in 2024. I think that would probably make sense if there's one there that they would like to develop. However, if Sam continues to impress and doesn't show any weaknesses that aren't coachable, I'm not a huge fan of the idea of trading up for a QB at the top of the draft. |

Jamf has oil in his eye balls, he can't see that well lol. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
I have a high opinion of Greg Cosell as an evaluator of NFL talent. Greg said "I would definitely be staying with Sam Howell" and I feel somewhat reassured by that.
Speaking of young QBs, I thought Will Levis looked very good against the Steelers defense Thursday night. |
Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Will Levis > Sam Howell

LOL. After two games against mediocre teams you have come to that conclusion? Ok. Maybe you're right, but I think I'd give it a few more games... |

Coaches have come into the job and retained an incumbent QB, and many have had success. |

Re: The Sam Howell Thread
Here is some truth … We are in the best position since Cousins at the QB position and I’m thinking Sam has a higher ceiling than Cousins ..remember we have NO Running game that scares anyone .. every single D we face knows we are gonna pass .. and pass ! We got RR running the show .. we got a D that has collapsed.. a Suspect Oline … and YET Sam is raising eyebrows with his play … yes he has some gaffs but even the best do … have I said anything that’s not true … correct me if I have !

Hope you are right about Howell having a higher ceiling than Cousins because that would put him into the Mahomes, Allen, Burrow territory. |
