Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I really don't mind the McPhee signing I think it might be ok for us ,but as long we can still go after Hankins that's who I really want for us just hope we can sign both if not then I don't want him .
I agree with you. But I don't think we are financially strapped to a point we can sign only one of those two players; we still can restructure few players' contract to free up more money. |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
I feel confident that we'll sign a run-stuffing DL. Hankins would be a great signing for us but, if we can't land him, I read somewhere that the Skins are staying in touch with Bennie Logan. So, perhaps we could land Logan. I think he could help us.
Like just about everyone else here, I would love to have Hankins. Git 'er done! |
Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
McPhee for Galette is basically a wash.
McPhee for Galette is basically a wash.
Agreed, but very different skill sets. We don't have anyone with JGs, which is worth more and I'm disappointed he was unrealistic about his value, but I have a feeling McPhee can be more impactful consistently so...yeah.

I’m interested to see if the Oline can actually be worse personnel wise going into preseason.
We trending that way....and without a running game, Alex smith will struggle |
McPhee for Galette is basically a wash.
I think JG is one of those unique guys who can go full speed at a crazy low body angle (or could when healthy)
After watching the Mcphee clip he looks like a prototypical ravens edge guy big, and strong. Thoughts? Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk |

Re: Redskins free agent signings 2018
We had a pretty hard time stopping the run last year. But when Allen was healthy we rushed the passer well. I for one am glad to see the more well rounded skill set in McPhee.
I was all about Galette, but then saw how poor he was against the run. Just not stout enough to set an edge. |

We have no starting left guard, a second year starter at center and no interior depth worth a shit. And it wasn’t a shot at Alex smith, but the down field passing game tends to open up when you have the NFL’s leading rusher in your backfield. Opponents tend play more one and one on the outside and stack the line. Also you have obviously more options in the red zone when you run the ball effectively. It’s really simple...not shedding light on anything new. It’s not a shock the eagles lead the league in rushing. |

We really need a RB

We will certainly draft one but don't know he would be before round 4. |

That said, we have pretty consistently found good o line depth and coached them up, even last year when decimated buy injuries, they managed to get serviceable production from guys off of the street. I really hope we draft a G in the first 3 rounds, but if we do, I'm pretty confident they will be able to find depth late in the draft and udfa. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

Ty N. is a very good swing tackle, but injuries are becoming a concern and he's getting up there in age. Kouandjo (sp?) is ok depth, but they let him walk last year and only brought him back when the s hit the fan. Hopefully these younger guys can be coached up, but depth is definitely a ? I think they need to replace some depth guys, but I think you're right that last year was just more proof that they can.

The Broncos still might cut CJ Anderson in a salary cap move. He is a very good all-around back, IMO. Hopefully, the Skins might see if they can make a trade with Denver to pick him up. |
