Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
My biggest issue with the draft so far is not taking this LSU edge Bradyn Swinson with our 4th:
https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/Player/Bradyn-Swinson-DE-Oregon He had 8.5 sacks last year along with 13.5 tfl. Think Lane can contribute but we needed an edge more and this kid may end being a stud. |
Browns have 5 QBs. Stuck with Watson’s contract but he will never play for them again.
Pickett or Flacco will be cut or traded. My guess Pickett is gone.
Flacco is their best QB on the roster. I highly doubt they cut him. I think one of them (Sanders or Gabriel) get cut or move to practice squad. They can't cut Watson due to contract/cap. I would rather have Pickett than either of the two late round QB picks. |

7th rounder used on a rb:

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
We draft RB Jacory Crowkey-Merritt.

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
Early grade: B-/C+ for draft.
|
Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
I'll give this draft a A- or B+. They made solid picks. Solidified the OL, added to our defensive woes and added a needed special teams player. Great draft IMO.
Truthfully, those 6th/7th round picks will be lucky to make the squad so I really don't judge by those picks. Special teams players unless we get some lucky production from the RB. |

This is what it looks like when an owner is making picks for your team.

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
I really like the draft. I think several good edge players will be released as the rookies get in. But clearly our offense is going to be a dominant one. Maybe more than the 91 team.

I genuinely don't see how it can be that low |

Croskey-Merritt will be on the team .. heck he may end up starting! I think my early grade is A , yea we didn't get the edge but we could still land one in a trade or get lucky with a UDFA

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
If you give AP a lower grade than B, then you should send your resume to Ashburn so you can help them pick better.
I see this draft as being all about speed, smarts, and coachable upside. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

They are 100 percent part of it. Including them I give it an A+. Hell without them I might too even with only 5 picks. Croskey- Merritt will be our starter by years end. Lane is a weapon as a receiver and a returner. Conerly fills out our oline and down the road will be our all important LT. We didn’t address Edge but Amos will certainly impact how much time our edge rushers have to do their job. Special teams got some juice too. AP got the most bang for his buck and it was impressive to watch. Absolutely pumped for this season without any koolaid! |
Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
Love the first two picks. No clue about rounds 4-7, but speed was needed. That RB is a sleeper.
I’d give Za Darius Smith a call tonight tho |

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
Seems like we went BPA all the way, which is what I love. I'm not sure if I would have drafted Lane in 4th rd just for punt return skills though but then we haven't had a good returner for the last few years so might as well as fill in the need sooner than later.
Jacory is an interesting story, I think it's fair to assume that he would have been drafted a little bit higher if he played last year. |

That was probably the one pick I was the least excited about. But he didn't have good QB play at VT, so he could also be more productive with Daniels than his stats reflected last season at Tech. I'm bummed that Jack Sawyer went a few picks ahead of us in the 4th. He just seemed like a Commander. But it wasn't meant to be. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Tend to agree with this take, but I think I struggle to award an A-, for me its a solid B, probably B+. The single biggest need wasn't addressed and while I know AP has a BPA philosophy, and reinforcing the OL makes total sense (protect your #1 asset), we're in a division with teams where DL is very important. We'll be facing Barkley and Skattebo in 4 games next year, and a number of mobile QB's. Be interesting to see how he looks at UDFA's and the remaining FA DL out there. But I can definitely live with the selections he did make. Connerly and Amos should contribute immediately, and Lane will likely contribute in the return game immediately, then in the passing game as he works his way in as hopefully an upgrade over Dyami Brown. The last 2 guys could be sleepers. |

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
missed on getting edge, but it's a B+ or better from me. I like that we have adults running things. OL and CB should be much better this year. RB is a fast cut guy, so that's a good scheme fit if he can play.
next year is probably LB+DE and maybe RB/TE depending on if someone steps up (since ertz and wagner will probably age out pretty soon). I was a bit surprised Ben S couldn't figure out a way onto the field last year. Seemed promising as a prospect (and yes, there's still time). |

I also wouldn't mind seeing the 2 te set if Kingsbury would run it.

He reminds me of Isaiah Pachenco as far as his legs never stopping and being more elusive than expected. |
Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
WR Jaylin Lane ran a 4.34 40-yard dash to go with a 40-inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump. All three numbers were among the best for a wide receiver at combine.

And the film suggests he didn't exactly have a great QB play supporting him in college. he's fast, 'small' and elusive. Slot WR? If McCaffrey steps up this year and Lane can have an impact Daniels should have all the weapons he needs. |

Looks like a solid pick and definitely bringing some tools with him to the league.

Re: 2025 NFL DRAFT
Some fans are ignorant assholes!
A Colorado football fan has filed a $100 million lawsuit against the NFL, alleging emotional distress and trauma caused by Shedeur Sanders' unexpected draft slide in the 2025 NFL Draft. The fan, known as John Doe in the complaint, claims the NFL intentionally lowered Sanders' draft position through false narratives and potential racial bias. He is seeking damages, a formal acknowledgement of the emotional harm, and changes to the draft process. Here's a more detailed breakdown: The Fan's Lawsuit: A self-described "dedicated fan of Colorado football" has sued the NFL, filing the lawsuit in federal court under the pseudonym John Doe. Allegations: The lawsuit accuses the NFL of violating antitrust, civil rights, and consumer protection laws, as well as intentional infliction of emotional distress and trauma. The Basis of the Claim: The fan claims that reports and "leaked statements" about Sanders during team interviews negatively impacted his reputation and led to his draft slide. Alleged Discrimination: The lawsuit alleges that Sanders' low draft position "may have been influenced by racial discrimination". Seeking Damages: The fan is seeking $100 million in damages, as well as a formal acknowledgment of the emotional harm, a retraction of "slanderous statements," an apology to Sanders, and fairer draft practices. Potential Frivolousness: The self-filed case is currently before a district court judge, who will determine if it is frivolous, meaning it lacks a valid legal basis. Emotional Distress: The fan claims to have suffered "emotional distress and trauma" as a result of Sanders' draft slide and the alleged actions of the NFL.
