Re: RAMS Postgame
Depends on whether the leaks are sanctioned by RR or not. There could be staff remaining from the previous regime trying to undermine him or just not bought in to the new regime. If he's sanctioning the leaks, then he's a) playing the game most others do anyway and/or b) its a direct undermining of Snyder.
If its the latter he could be just doing it to keep Snyder out of the kitchen ("See Dan, this is why we need the culture change and you need to leave me to run the football operation"). I'm not sold that he'd be deliberately trying to get Snyder to take the blame ("It's his culture") and accelerate the sale of the team. In reality culture change doesn't happen overnight, except if you have a massive cull (night of the long knives style?!). I wouldn't be surprised if there were remnants of the BA era still muddying the waters. OTOH I'd expect them to be exposed by leaks like these and RR and Jason Wright to be in the process of rooting them out. If so, then they'll be handled the usual way; public firing if they want a message sent (though given the outside view of the franchise that could be pouring on fuel) or they'll be ushered out quietly and the leaks will just dry up.
Good scenarios there. My issue with the leaks, if they were indeed RR sanctioned, is that they just hurted Dwayne's trade value by quite a lot. Benching him quietly to number 2 while praising gim publicly (thus making the "we're going for the division" narrative more credible) and get on the phone to get as much as you can would have been way better for the team than the leaks and public shades that RR threw at him. Not a surprise nobody wants him now... Envoyé de mon SM-J320FN en utilisant Tapatalk |

Haha I'll admit I'm binge watching other games in condensed 40min version just to get a feel of real NFL football ^^ |

Listening to Cooley's breakdown of the Defense, I couldn't help but go find some plays he was highlighting as embarrassing :
1st one you can see 4 guys covering one guy and none of them are less than 10y to him 2nd one... just look at Bostic, it's ridiculous 3rd one, Bostic again, he's still side shuffling when Goff is past the LoS and can't throw it to Everett anymore, who's also covered by Allen anyway... Just go tackle the QB ! 4th one... just look at #58 Thomas Davis, what the F are you covering ? Flat defender, go cover the wide open guy in the flat ! I usually like Bostic, tough player, solid tackler... but he had an awful game. Awful. |
Re: RAMS Postgame
Cooley right, we need to go out and find the best middle linebacker available
|
Re: RAMS Postgame
" here's what happened to Jack Del Rio, he got fuckin' punked by Sean McVay " Chris Cooley on Sheehan's podcast. 😂😂😂😂

Bostic is lost in coverage

3rd lowest grade on the entire D. Cooley clowning Del Rio but at the end of the day, that defense has very little talent... Chase Young, Payne and Fuller are the 3 consistent starters. The rest are average at best. |

Lack of middle linebacker and safety help need to be pursued. We need to get rid of RK and that contract. When I look at the offense...what a mess. QB, TE, WR and Oline all need money spent and picks consumed. Right now, my biggest needs ranking: 1.QB 2. TE 3. MLB 4. Guard 5. WR 6. Tackle 7. Free Safety One thing about Tackle, Moses has been good and I need to see Charles play. He needs to get an opportunity to play like Haskins needed to last year; he could be the future with his talent. I don’t see Christian or Wes Martin as starters...they are developing depth. |

Awful.
great post French Ive been hearing about the skins going with a "heavy nickel" package where Curl comes in. That should help having KPL and Curl be able to match up on a TE or slot vs Bostic. Del Rio needs to do a better job of hiding Bostic from coverage bc its an automatic win for the offense. I would think this is something Del Rio is clearly working on. Worst case scenario, put Holcomb in who at least has some speed and hustle. |
Re: RAMS Postgame
Manusky got heat, now Del Rio. We are now in a 4-3. Folks it's the players. They just aren't any good. It doesn't matter who the coordinator is. No more excuses for this group.
As far as the offense, they got 100 yards. I bet Clemson could get 100 in an NFL game. That's how bad they are. |
Re: RAMS Postgame
Yeah I thought the 4-3 was going to be the magic fix? LOL
|
Re: RAMS Postgame
That Front 7 sure is mean....
|
Re: RAMS Postgame
We are equivalent to a baseball team that has a shitty catcher, SS, 2nd baseman, and CF.
If you suck up the middle, you have no chance to be successful on defense. All of the guys are replaceable. |

They also seem to lack football IQ (outside of Thomas Davis, who is long in the tooth) for the most part as well. Hopefully, Cole Holcomb is ready to go and we can finally get a look at him this season. We're in need of smarts and better talent at the 'backer and safety positions. |

Cooley says he's not good in man coverage though IIRC. |
Re: RAMS Postgame
We do not have any LB"s that can cover. This has been going on for years, going all the way back to Fletcher and Perry Riley. Then Mason Foster who was literally the worst LB I have ever seen take an NFL field. Now we have a few new guys who are just not any good. I mean, what was the point of signing Davis? Cause he knows the defense? SMH.

Disagree on Foster but that's the past... Definitely agree on Davis though, the guy is slow as the drugged out son of a turtle and a hedgehog... and what good does knowing the defense bring if you don't do your assignment anyway... Does the film session go: "-Hey Thomas, the flat was... -Yeah yeah coach the flat was definitely mine, I didn't go there because I was too tired but I know my assignment of course ! - Okay, see guys?! THIS is what we want ! Somebody who knows 100% of the playbook ! Ok, next week we might start applying what we know on the field, but don't rush it guys, wouldn't want to hurt the development of this young football team !" ? |

I had also posted it to twitter, with the other embarrassing plays from the film breakdown, Cooley responded "you sure found them. tough to watch". Well, I don't know why because I didn't tag him, and I'm only on Twitter to follow WFT related things and mainly post about the name change, so I have like 12 or so followers... But Thomas Davis found the tweet and didn't like it... Man how dysfunctional is this team when we have 15 years vet defending their play during an ugly loss on a tweet that got 15 likes... sad... also a bit funny. But mainly sad.
