One positive and one negative fact about the future.

-London Fletcher will be 38 next season.

-Robert Griffin will be 23 next season.

skinsfaninok 11-22-2012 11:11 PM

Griffin has 10 years of elite status in him. Let's enjoy it and get. SB out of it
IF we do, and get a upset or two in the playoffs, I think you most definitely could throw him into the MVP discussion. I'm not getting my hopes up on this though. He's still a bit behind Rodgers though on that list. (and Manning)
I guess rookie of the year is a much better bet. I dont even care about awards - if this guy wins us a division crown as a rookie that would be unreal. HTTR

Sorry if this has been said but can we please sign a petition to get Troy Aikman and Joe Buck off Cowboys games bc they could not have been anymore bias tonight.!! I actually like Troy as a commentator but not when his cowgirls are playing....geeeeeeeeeeeezus!
Great game tonight but feel like the Shanny's plus Haslett did not try and put the game away in the 2nd half....All is right with the world when the Skins beat Dallas!!! HTTR!!

Personally i think Buck/Aikman are the best commentators on the air. I love Al Michaels but can't stand Chris Collinsworth. Both Buck and Aikman are generally unbiased and give good insight to players/coaches. Just my opinion...

Con-freaking-cur! Once he completely learns the offense/nfl he will be unstoppable without injuries. The fact he is a rookie is mind blowing. He already has London Fletcher following his lead! Thats not easy, Fletcher has put in tons of work, he does not give that respect easily. Did you see Fletch rooting on RGIII on the sidelines! RGIII is a flat out leader, his teammates will go anywhere he asks them to. Thats how you win championships! We will win a SB reasonably soon. He is too good not to win at least one. We have a QB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And apparently now a field goal kicker! It is awesome, so excited about the future.
I thought that Hall not running it in showed restraint. A quality he has lacked in the past. For that reason I liked it a lot!
My first reaction was that Hall did an exceptionally smart thing....falling down guarantees the win...scoring selfishly does not...in fact it puts the ball back in the enemy's hands.
I believe it was a great move not scoring.

It was the most unselfish play I have seen from our most selfish player.
Best game of the year from D Hall!

Skins Win, Skins Win....I didn't think it would happen....I was wrong!
SKINS BEAT DALLAS ON Turkey day!!

Re: Skins 38 Cowboys 31 post game thread

The last drive by RGIII defines how good he is.
During a critical play...the Shanny's dial up a very similar play to the one that RGIII threw a pick to get the Cowboys back in the game. He throws a perfect pass to Moss for a first down...I know that isn't a glamorous play...but it keeps the clock moving and gives us a shot to get into field goal range...prior skins QB's would have thrown a pick or an incompletion and we would have lost...not RGIII.
PS...that last FG scared the crap out of me knowing how weak our Pass Defense is.
I sure hope this guy is legit...because that FG was AMAZING!!
I was jumping like an idiot!!
I LOVE IT...SKINS BEAT THE COWBOYS...I hate them....I REALLY HATE THEM!!!

This WAS OUR SUPERBOWL for 2012....and WE WON!!!

I disagree, it was very glamorous lol, he stepped right back in the mix and fired a perfect lazer. He is just a stud, and he will not be phased by any moment or any previous bad play. I can't believe we get to watch him for the next 10 years give or take. Just lock him down now to a hockey contract. 15 years, 300 million dollars or whatever. A-Rod contract him now!

I strongly dislike Hall, more than anyone, but he did the right (and very unselfish) thing. Almost zero chance of something going wrong on a kneel down vs. continuing play. Its not a discussion. You're just wrong.

Well both commentators - one of which is a hall of fame football player - agree with me. So did several people in this forum.
Oh yeah one more thing, Ill enjoy the win wherever the hell i choose to. Dont need your help bud.
Edit: are you seriously so disgusted by my opinion that you are asking me to delete my account? That is hysterical. Did i bash anyone who has a different opinion - no. So why such anger? Damn - didnt think anything could really piss me off after a win like that but your comment is so ballsy and rude.

Did anyone else find deangelo hall taking a knee there to be classy?

punch it in 11-23-2012 12:43 AM

There was 14 seconds left. How the hell is going up by 14 points add up to anything else besides a win? Its not even possible to onsides kick and score twice in that time span. Also since when do we treat the cowboys with class?!?!? Like Deezel said - stick it up their ass rite there.
Edit: either way its a win. Dont really think it was a huge deal. Im not in the habit of taking points off the board. Ever. If you disagree - God Bless. Im certainly not going to ask you to do it outside the confines of this forum. Lol.

htownskinfan 11-23-2012 01:08 AM

Also, when RG3 was about to be sacked in 2nd qtr,how cool was it when Kory L picked him up and pushed him forward for 6 yards?

JoeRedskin 11-23-2012 01:12 AM

Taking a knee was absolutely the right thing to do. It was smart and unselfish. Why risk injuries that may occur on a kick off or as Dallas takes desperation throws down field? All we need is for somebody to twist an ankle and be out for an extended period. Take the kneel down and go home winner winner chicken dinner.

punch it in 11-23-2012 01:12 AM

That should have been a ten yard loss. Loved that.

cdskins26 11-23-2012 01:15 AM

Re: Skins 38 Cowboys 31 post game thread

Honestly i was impressed by deangelo today. Big time interception was nice, he had a really tough matchup, which only got tougher with romo chucking everything deep to dez, and still did his best to hold his own.

The slide on the last play was irrelevant in any way, and while 45-28 looks AWESOME, the fact that he had the team sense to take a knee actually goes a long way towards putting some of the "meangelo" perception. He looked more like a leader out there than normal in that secondary.

Fletcher stepped up big today as a leader which was great to see. Also nice to see Garcon get some confidence back with a big day.

Finally, i think we need an icon option that just shows RGIII, which can be used to indicate, "like always RGIII was unbelievable today, continuing to amaze us as a fan base and do things we never would have thought possible." Just gonna put that on my warpath christmas list.

Did you see Kyle talking to DHall immediately after the play? Didnt look like he was saying good job? It was while Aikman was laughing at the fact he didnt score. I dont think you can take points off the board to avoid injury.
Edit: everyone wants to say it was a team play and unselfish. This is the same guy that slapped bryant in the face and got away with it. Would you have really thought he was selfish for scoring there?

I dont care about the slide. I really dont. I just cant keep hearing about how selfless it was. Htown said it best - he was trying to be smart but it wasnt. Points are king I enjoyed the slap too. **** dez bryant but it was dumb as hell. Very lucky he didnt get flagged. My problem with Dhall has always been that he doesnt back up his mouth and temper on the field with his play but tonite he definitely did.

Re: Skins 38 Cowboys 31 post game thread

Hall sliding was not necessarily a smart move, but it shows hall was at least thinking about something other than himself. While I'm mad it cost me a fantasy point (kneel down is a 2 year running play loss), I'd rather the game end on an rg3 kneel down than with the ball in the cowboys hands.

Re: Skins 38 Cowboys 31 post game thread

Whether Hall scored or not doesn't really matter. We went into Cowboys Stadium and kicked the Cowboys ass all over the field today and came out of it with not only a win but a 2nd place standing in the NFC East.

punch it in 11-23-2012 01:48 AM

If he had fallen on the ball upon grabbing it yes. When he got down inside the five he could have had it stripped when he slowed up. I honestly thought he was hotdogging for a moment. He wasnt - but it was an awkward stop/ slide. It could have been disasterous. At that point take it in.

I don't know who I hate more, the NY Midgets or their fans. Their heads have swelled so much and they got their chest poked out because of their 2 super bowls in the past 5 years. They got the Packers, Redskins, Ravens, Saints, and Falcons coming up. It's no way in hell they finish better than 8-8.
