I'm under the impression that a lot of this Redskins going all in for RG3 is being leaked by the Rams camp and thats not to say that the Rams are lying but it does serve the Rams better then it does the Redskins for that info to be out there.

I think they have a take it or leave it offer ready for Manning. Which I hear may be acceptable to him. Don't know what the offer is, or what other teams might be thinking.

As for Griffin, everyone talks about us getting a great deal bc Fisher and Shanahan are good friends. I say so what. There are great friends all around the league. But for shots and giggles let's go with that and say they're conspiring to drive up the price Cleveland has to pay.

Really all depends on Manning and Flynn I think

I think the only real advantage of that friendship is it might give a chance for the Redskins to match any offer provided theres not like a minute left on the clock. Then again thats only speculation on my part.

I mean we have to keep in mind that all things being equal it's better for Fischer to trade RGIII to the Browns as not only do they have the higher top pick but they're also in the AFC, meaning Fischer wouldn't have to worry about competing with an RGIII led Redskin team down the road for a playoff spot should it come to that.

The picks we might give up for him might not pan out either. I guess I would rather have a franchise Qb than some 2nd & 3rd rounder that rides the bench. If you replace Rex with a Qb that scores last year, i think we would've been 10-6.

This offseason has been... awesome - and we're just getting started.

After the last draft...and with the potential of some good moves on the horizon...

I feel pretty positive about the direction of the skins.

I've been all over the place of late on the QB issue... but I think I'm getting a better idea of what I'd like to see...

Bradford - I'd be excited to have Bradford at the helm (though I know Fisher said that's not on the table)
RGIII - Pretty awesome if it happens
Weeden - He'd be pretty solid. And from what it seems...Shannahan likes him. Weeden for me might be the smart thing to do... building upon last year's strategy.

Manning??? Man, I respect what he's done but I just can't get over (the snyder/cerrato factor)

Orton - are you kidding me

Sanchez - are you kidding me

Brees - If it were ever a possibility, that would be pretty awesome too.

Any rumors on Shannahan liking the QB out of SDSU...as a late round developmental?

I had inferred from the info given to me that our interest in moving up was only for Luck, and not RG3. That the RG3 buzz was more of a smokescreen

If the RG3 hype grows day by day, isn't there at least a chance the Colts take him over Luck? If I were to pick between the two, I'd still pick Luck, but I'll grant you RG3 may be more exciting to watch.

I had this crazy theory last week, that the Skins might possibly be pushing the RG3 hype train in hopes that Indy will hop aboard, and prefer RG3 plus picks to Luck. Thus leaving Luck wide open for the taking.

My ideal qb situation:

Stay at #6 and draft Griffin if possible/if not pick Tannehil at 6 and draft Russel Wilson in the 4th.

For this thread Manning/Cousins. I would take Manning/any valuable rookie qb.

I would take Manning and a QB in the draft. I am beginning to really warm up to RT with Manning.

The thought of RGIII in a Skins uni is very appealing as well.

If we can get either one of these two scenarios I believe I will be happy!

You can certainly understand the desire though. Franchise QB's make teams contenders year in and year out. They also cover up deficiencies when the rest of your team struggles. It's quite the paradox. Infinitly easier to find grunt and supporting players then it is to find a franchise QB but it's much easier to find a franchise QB then it is to put together 30 or so regular supporting players needed to be a contender with a game manager at QB.

I mean I look at the Jets, the model that so many people here wanted to follow with their dominant offensive line, running game, and defense coupled with an average QB. Now that team is falling apart. It's so hard to keep it going with that big supporting cast, as someone is always getting injured or aging to fast, then it is with a QB that can change games a la RG3.

I'm going to stick with my mantra. Quality over quantity. Just because the no-RG3 plans means we get 3 or 4 extra Day 1 and 2 players doesn't mean we're going to be better off.
