I'm glad that douche bag is gone. Sure he plays that role for the press and the public, but now you understand why the locker room was 50/50 back in Philly during the whole TO fiasco. He wants people to kiss his ass, but the guy is a overrated clown who's rode Andy's system without ever winning squat except one NFC Championship. He's not clutch, and most likely never will be.

What? You aren't groveling at my feet? I'm going to another team that will!! What? You want me to wear a arm band with plays? Pffft.... I"m too cool for that!

Vikings will finish last in their division:

Packers
Lions
Bears
Vikings

Be concerned McNabb. You can stay here as the 3rd stringer or you can go to the Vikes as a starter for a few weeks? Go ahead and hold up your own progress.

We can't keep him. If he's on the opening day roster, we'd have to pay that huge bonus and pay him 12.5 million this year and the rest of his contract would kick in as well.

What we could do is, hold him all during the training camp/pre-season only to release him at the end so he couldn't get any reps/learning with another team. That would really F him over. It's up to him, he can play nice with us, or he can get the stick.

And not get anything back from the 2nd and 4th rounder we wasted on him? It just amazes me how much some fans are okay getting nothing from the McNabb fiasco.

We'll be getting 2 6th rounders for him. It's better than us just releasing him, which is exactly what we would be doing if nobody wanted him. The deal was made and it didn't work out. We were fortunate we got what we did back from him. Nobody was going to give up anything valuable for McNabb.

True, but no one side has a bargaining chip over the other in this situation.
The Vikes have a better offensive line than we've had for the past two/three seasons, and a running game that is much better the Eagles have ever had. A QB like McNabb was meant to go to a team with a lot of things in place, not a rebuilding team like ours. I don't think they'll be a playoff team b/c of the competition within the division, but there's a possibility that he might do better.
Vikes OL has fallen down quite a bit. Old Man Fav-rah was quite broken playing behind such a "good" OL.

I found this interesting.
The (roughly) 14-hour holdup was contract parameters; McNabb needed to rework his deal and get rid of the $10 million option bonus the Redskins owed him per last November's phony extension. McNabb figures to open camp as the favorite to start for the Vikings, but the team won't wait around if the 34-year-old struggles early. Minnesota's scouting department determined before the draft that Christian Ponder was NFL-ready. It's probably a safe bet that both will start games this year, be it due to ineffectiveness or injury behind an aging offensive line that struggles in pass protection. This is a situation to avoid in fantasy football. I'd love to see McNugget benched for a rookie....lolol

I'd rather see him traded for a conditional 5th rounder as supposed two 6ths. It's not like this team is able to find diamonds in the rough later in the draft.

Well, you can't get what isn't available. If they weren't willing to give a 5th (I'm under the impression we asked for a 5th and 7th) then you have to take what you can get.

Favre had the mobility of an oak tree and was completely worn down, so that was a different situation.

I understand one of the 6th rounders is conditional. Let's hope he will meet whatever the requirement is for the compensation to be two.

Re: Redskins and Vikings agree on McNabb trade (updated: deal is done)

I don't know but my arch-nemesis Adam Schefter and my compadre John Clayton as well as FoxSports' Jay Glazer are reporting that the deal will be officially announced tomorrow.

And as reported it will be McNabb for a 6th in 2012 and a conditional 6th in 2013. The 5th and 7th I had initially said was what the Redskins were looking for apparently

Your point?
McNabb is NOW less mobile than Jason Campbell and puts himself in 2nd and long and third and long situations. He'll get whacked plenty of times.

What the hell does Jason Campbell have to do with this? We're comparing McNabb's mobility to Favre's.

Getting creative. Niiice. I can just imagine McNabb's press conferences now:

Reporter: So McNabb, what do you feel was the reason why you guys were able to be successful on the field today, you in particular?

McNabb: Well, we just came together as a team, and played as a team. But personally, I feel like a big influence on me at this point in my career was this alt. rock band Tripping Icarus, who I just heard about upon coming over here. As soon as I put them on my Ipod, I felt rejuvenated, and it was like everything just came together for me from that point on.

It's a reference to the hockey Norris division which was located in the similar geographic location as the NFC North.

And Mcnabb's "faster than Favre" isn't that much faster. A couple years back in preseason, they were teeing off on McNabb but Vick got no pass rush. McNabb isn't going to be outrunning a lot of guys anymore. .

Named after the same guy the Norris Trophy for league's top defenseman is named for? Makes sense. Ah and it also says when the Caps started as an expansion team that was their original division. Okay. Thanks for the insight guys, obviously this was before my time.
