Maybe Stewart tried to wreck him on purpose cause Hamlin is in 2nd place and is a better driver. Stewart is like a little kid and got all jealous.

(hehe, somewhere SS has a vien popping in his forehead.)
I should take you guys to a race so you can meet them...but I don't want to be seen in public with some of you :)

Either way, Stewart will have the last laugh...and if he doesn't it won't be his fault, he and I will be sure to remind you of that ;)

Hey, I'd be thrilled to go...I hear they are a lot of fun. I have never been to an event.

Well, I'm willing to bet that Hamlin will come in higher than him this year.
Also, My boy Gordon will actually have the last laugh and win his 5th championship!!!!

Re: JGR: Stewart Wrecks #11 Denny Hamlin

Jeff Gordon is certainly having a good year. We'll see who wins at the Brickyard in two weeks. The last two years the winner of that race has gone on to win the championship.

Tony's about to make his move now. Truthfully though, as much a fan as I am of his I sort of want to see Burton take the title this year. I just don't know if he has enough to do it. He's steady but steady isn't enough

Tony definitely has a hot car right now. He could make a run...but like I said, Hamlin will end up on top of him.
No one is going to touch Gordon, brickyard or not.
Once the chase for the cup starts, you'll see Gordon get after it with full force again...I think he's just playing around right now.

Well from a tv perspective, definitely glad to see Gordon up there. He's good for the ratings

I'd like to meet him. He's one that I haven't yet

Well, according to 24X24 he's the best driver that ever lived, on and off the track. I concur. :D

By the way, the Sporting News had a good article about Burton this week.

Haha. Everyone I've talked to either loves him or hates him.

As for Burton, you can't help but like the guy. I'm glad his career has started to bounce back these past couple of years

Yeah, but no one has a real reason to dislike him. The same ole argument is that he is from Cali, or he wins too much.

Yeah, he's come a long way since his exide 99 car.

Gordon's not very approachable from what I hear. But who knows, I can't say without meeting him myself.

Well, I wouldn't want a slew of fans and people around me either. His whole life there are millions of people around him.
I would wager that Stewart is the same way...especially in the way he treats the media.

Far from it, TS is extremely approachable. It's what I've been telling you for over a week now

Did you see 24X24? They talked about how Gordon just acts like one of the guys, and how approachable he is. Of course it's a DVD so it's view is skewed, but still.

Yeah, and of course that's going to be biased and I'm certain wasn't released without Gordon, Hendrick Motorsports, and NASCAR reviewing it first

I don't know, like I said I haven't met him. He never seems to be around when I'm at a race. And I've heard mixed things. I would love to meet him of course...provided his wife is there too :)

LOL...I'm not sure I want you to meet him.
It's like what I said before, I like being a silent and distant fan. If he's a prick, then it would tarnish my view of him. Hard to imagine him as a prick though...he had rave reviews from everyone on SNL for his guest appearence there.

I've learned over time from working in sports as a career to separate the athlete from the person. Some of my favorite players have become my least favorite people and vice versa. It used to bother me, but then I said to myself why should it? I'm not looking to these guys for guidance or support? I have my dad, my brother, my mom, sister-in-law, etc. for that.

It's only natural though...it's hard to route for an asshole. (ie: Bonds)

There is nothing like it. I went to the first Richmond race in '06 (Junior nosed out Hamlin), and it's incredible. The wife and I had a blast. If you get a chance, get a group together and roadtrip to a track.

Here in the DC area, we're fairly close to Dover, Richmond, Martinsville, and Pocono. And if we road trip it, Bristol, Charlotte and Darlington aren't too far either. I'd like to hit Martinsville next...I know several people who go down for the weekend from my neck of the woods.

The problem is we live around 8-9 hours away from the closest event. It's more than just a road trip, it would be a mini vacation.
Sad thing is, I lived in MA for 22 years, but I wasn't a NASCAR fan, so I had no clue there was a track in NH.

Maybe a Darlington stripe down the right side with sand paper and a few wacks with a hammer wouldn't be mean I guess to a Teammate. Right?
