Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
Howell is better than Heinicke. Whoever is better should be No. 2 imo.

Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
He may have a better skill set, but that doesn't mean he is ready for any team's starting defense.
If they name him #2, I'll be on board and trust that the Coaches know what they are doing. If they name him #3 - same. |

I think it's a toss-up between the 2, I just think Howell would be better. But either one would be a significant drop-off from a healthy Wentz. So hopefully Wentz can play all 17. |
Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
We've seen the preseason heroes come and go especially at QB. I like Howell but we need to slow down a bit. Heinicke brings value as a backup and he's a great guy to have in the QB room.

I think we need to keep all 3 on the active roster (I think Sunny said the same earlier, so I agree w/ his point). I don't think Howell or Heinicke would make it through waivers to get back to P.S. (not even sure if Henicke is eligible for P.S. either). |
Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
I really don't get the urge, after some nice plays against and with people that will at best be on practice squad in a few hours, to name Howell #2 since we have an established starter.
Develop the kid as far as you can from the crazy buzz greedy media's spotlights, and either promote him #2 when he's clearly earned it, or once you've traded Heinicke if you feel like you can afford to (in which case leaving Heinicke as your #2 increases his value, but i don't think that's a realistic idea right now). If Wentz gets injured, I'll trust the coaching staff to know who gives the team a better chance, and if Taylor starts but plays really bad then you could still name Howell the starter with less pressure. Anyway we're not cutting any of them, so what's the big deal? |
Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
howell definitely still has things to work on, but he did show very good signs. TH has shown well under pressure though and I think spending a year learning wouldn't be the worst for howell.

This. Some people here act like it would be a terrible thing for Howell to redshirt this year lol. Let him sit and learn for a year, it's not gonna hurt his development. |

yeah seriously, i read that yesterday and was like no one in the NFL is trading anything for TH. If not for this dumpster of a fire franchise TH be selling home insurance not playing house as a NFL QB. |
I think you mean cut. Nobody is going to trade for TH.
To my defense there was indeed some alcohol in my blood at the time of that message. But isn't a swap of players and/or late round picks a realistic option for a back up QB ?

I don't think it's crazy to think we could get compensation for TH if there was a team in a pinch at the QB position.

Exactly!. Only in Washington. |

My thinking too. Even a team with a solid starter but no decent back up could be willing to give away at least a 7th, or swap 5th and 6th, wouldn't it? |
Re: Skins v ravens GDT 7 pm Saturday
Let's not forget Geno Smith and David Mills are NFL starters ^^
