Re: Best Offensive Skill Talent Since When?
Health is the key. I mean that is true for lots of teams. But some teams just flat out don't have sufficient talent either. We do. If Thomas comes back ready to rock and Samuel got a replacement groin, this offense should be stacked:

WR1: Terry McLaurin
WR2: Jahan Dotson (I think he is about as pro-ready as they come to contribute immediately)
WR3/Slot: Curtis Samuel
TE: Logan Thomas
RB: Antonio Gibson or Brian Robinson or J. D. McKissic (I think Gibson will start but the rotation will be pretty equal for snaps as they all bring something a little different)
QB: Carson Wentz

We will actually be able to throw the ball down the field this year too. That is HUGE change from last year. Wentz can hit the deep ball. Terry about to blow up the league this year.
That is probably the single most important improvement of the offseason in my opinion. There was absolutely no threat of a down-the-field attack last year, which had a tremendous effect on our ability to run the ball effectively, control the clock, score quickly... Teams will have to respect the deep threat with this QB and the speed of these receivers.

Every Touchdown Wentz threw with the Eagles.

Agreed -- how many times did we see replays where terry was running all alone down the sideline waving for the ball to be thrown his way? Answer: too many. This year should be different, and that should open up our game plan a fair bit. I'm also interested to see the 1-2 punch of Gibson and Robinson.

That's an interesting stat comparison for sure. But all it really tells me is that Scott Turner has figured out a way to do more with less.

There's no doubt Wentz has the ability to push the ball down the field like Taylor Heinicke can only dream about.

The threat is there this year. It wasn't last year.

Have to admit I was not expecting to find that kind of average for Wentz when I was looking to compare the 2 guys.

That is shockingly low for a guy with a reputation for taking shots rather than dumping the ball off for a safe completion.

Consider me concerned.

Yuck, as a Redskin fan pretty sure I can't stomach watching a bunch of Eagle TDs.

It's Wentz's completion percentage that drives that down. He goes downfield more often, but he has one of the lower completion percentages in the league. Complete fewer gives you more attempts that go for 0 yards and drags the average down. Heinicke was at 65% last year, Wentz at 62%.

If you care to look at the stats look up air yards per target. That will probably show Carson trying to go deeper.

But look at the INT numbers and the TD numbers that's really what you need to know. Taylor might be completing more, but those throws are still ending up short of the sticks more often and still resulting in either more punts or more TO's than Wentz has.

More of Wentz's drives end up in the end zone. That's the ultimate stat for a QB.
